Gare D'Ascq
Ascq station ( French: ''Gare d'Ascq'') is a railway station serving the former village of Ascq, now part of Villeneuve-d'Ascq city, Nord department, northern France. History In nineteenth century the industrial revolution is developing industry in northern France. Ascq is linked to Lille with the construction of the railway station in 1865, and in 1885 to Roubaix. During the Second World War, numerous trains were going through Ascq and members of the resistance would regularly commit acts of sabotage. On 1 April 1944, after such an act of sabotage, the Nazis killed 86 men. This event is known as the Ascq massacre. In the late 1990s, before the construction of a new Belgian high speed railway line, Eurostar and Thalys trains going to Belgium were going through Ascq station. Ilévia
Ilévia is the public transport operator for the Lille Métropole, the metropolitan area surrounding the city of Lille in northern France. It operates a mixed system, comprising buses, trams and a driverless light metro system. The company is a subsidiary of Keolis, the largest private sector French transport group. Keolis is itself 70% owned by SNCF and 30% owned by Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. In January 2019, the company changed from its former name 'Transpole' to 'ilévia'. Orchies (; nl, Oorschie) is a commune in the department of Nord in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. Orchies is the biggest town of the Pévèle. It is especially known for its ''Musée de la chicorée'', the museum of chicory. Orchies is twinned with Kelso in the Scottish Borders area of the United Kingdom. Tournai railway station (french: Gare du Tournai, nl, Station Doornik), officially Tournai, is a railway station in Tournai, Belgium, situated on railway line 94. It is operated by the National Railway Company of Belgium (SNCB/NMBS). History The first train arrived there on 24 January 1842. A first neoclassical stone building dating from the 1840s was later dismantled and replaced to serve as the railway station of the town of Leuze-en-Hainaut. Lille-Flandres Station
Lille-Flandres station ( French: ''Gare de Lille-Flandres'', Dutch: ''Rijsel Vlaanderen'') is the main railway station of Lille, capital of French Flanders. It is a terminus for SNCF Intercity and regional trains. It opened in 1842 as the ''Gare de Lille'', but was renamed in 1993 when Lille Europe station opened. There is a 500m walking distance between the two stations, which are also adjacent stops on one of the lines of the Lille Metro. Construction The station was built by Léonce Reynaud and Sydney Dunnett for the CF du Nord. Construction began in 1869 and ended in 1892. The station front is the old front from Paris' Gare du Nord and was dismantled then reassembled in Lille at the end of the 19th century; an extra storey, as well as a large clock, were added to the original design. Thalys (French: ) is a French-Belgian high-speed train operator originally built around the LGV Nord high-speed line between Paris and Brussels.
