Garden Club Of Monaco
The Garden Club of Monaco was founded by the late Princess Grace, Princess of Monaco in 1968. She was the first president of the club. After her death, in 1982, her widower, Rainier III, Prince of Monaco appointed his daughter Princess Caroline to the role. The club is mainly known for hosting the annual ''International Competition of Bouquets''. 2021 will see the 52nd edition of the competition, from 16 to 17 October. The founder thought the club was necessary to the "lifeblood" of community life in Monaco. Princess Grace
Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 – September 14, 1982) was an American actress who, after starring in several significant films in the early to mid-1950s, became Princess of Monaco by marrying Prince Rainier III in April 1956. Kelly was born into a prominent Catholic family in Philadelphia. After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1949, Kelly began appearing in New York City theatrical productions and television broadcasts. Rainier III (Rainier Louis Henri Maxence Bertrand Grimaldi; 31 May 1923 – 6 April 2005) was Prince of Monaco from 1949 to his death in 2005. Rainier ruled the Principality of Monaco for almost 56 years, making him one of the longest-ruling monarchs in European history. Julia Clements
Julia Clements (born Gladys Agnes Clements; 11 April 1906 – 1 November 2010) was an English flower arranger and lecturer on floral arranging whose career spanned over 60 years. She wrote some 20 bestselling books on the subject of flower arranging, as well as contributing to a variety of publications on gardening. For 12 years, she wrote a column for ''Popular Gardening''. Clements married Sir Alexander Hay Seton, 10th Baronet of Abercorn (1904–1963) in 1962, thus becoming Lady Seton, though she continued to be known as Julia Clements professionally. Clements remained active in floral art and horticulture until the end of her life, and in 2009, at the age of 103, she was the guest of honour at the Festival of Flowers at Westminster Abbey to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies.
