''Gamblers' Ballet'' is a 2007 album by the Irish folk band Kíla. It was nominated for the Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year 2007. The opening track "Leath Ina Dhiaidh A hOcht"/"Half Eight" was the first single taken from the album. "Cardinal Knowledge" was used as the outro music for the Cartoon Saloon, Oscar nominated animation ''The Secret of Kells'', and "Dúisigí" and "Cabhraigí Léi" were used in the Japanese film ''Kadokawa'', which was directed by Ryuichi Hiroki. Kíla
Kíla is a 1987 Irish folk music/world music group from the Gaelscoil, Irish language secondary school, Coláiste Eoin, Coláiste Eóin in County Dublin. Band History Kíla began in 1987 in the secondary in Coláiste Eoin, in the first year they busked nearly every week and played 44 concerts, mostly at their father's publishing company book launches, their mother's art exhibition openings and their brother's political campaign launches. Their first pay-in concert was upstairs in the Baggot Inn and was attended by only 3 people one of which was the broadcaster Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh and her school friend Nóra Ní Chonchubhair and the Music historian and musician but then didgeridoo player Siomon O Dwyer. The Secret Of Kells
''The Secret of Kells'' is a 2009 animated fantasy film about the making of the Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript from the 9th Century. The film is an Irish-French-Belgian co-production animated by Cartoon Saloon, which premiered on 8 February 2009 at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival. It went into wide release in Belgium and France on 11 February, and Ireland on 3 March. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, but lost to Pixar's '' Up''. Cartoon Saloon is an Irish animation film, short film and television studio based in Kilkenny which provides film TV and short film services. The studio is best known for its animated feature films ''The Secret of Kells'', ''Song of the Sea'', '' The Breadwinner'' and ''Wolfwalkers''. Their works have received five Academy Award nominations, their first four feature length works all received nominations for Best Animated Feature and one for Best Animated Short Film ('' Late Afternoon'').
