Galina Marinova (artistic Gymnast)
Galina Marinova ( bg, Галина Маринова, born 1 November 1964) is a retired Bulgarian gymnast who competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics. Marinova started gymnastics at age 8 and became a national champion in 7th grade. She was named as an alternate for the 1979 World Championships and ended up competing, including qualifying for the all-around final, after another gymnast was injured. She also competed in the all-around finals at the 1980 Olympics, where she finished 19th, and at the 1981 World Championships. After retiring, she opened a gym, All Olympia Gymnastics Center, in Calabasas, California Calabasas (from Spanish ''calabazas'' "gourds") is a city in the southwestern region of the San Fernando Valley, between the foothills of the Santa Monica and Santa Susanna mountains.

1979 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 20th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships were held in Fort Worth, United States, in 1979. In November 1977 the 55th Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique, FIG Congress, held in Rome, changed the cycle of world championships: since 1979 they were to be held each two years, and the pre-Olympic ones were to be qualifications for the Olympic tournament. The first 12 teams in the team competition of the 1979 World Championships were invited to participate in the 1980 Summer Olympics. 1981 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 21st Artistic Gymnastics World Championships were held in Moscow, the capital of the USSR, in November 1981. The championships were originally meant to be hosted in Mexico City, but financial difficulties caused Mexico to withdraw as hosts in March of that year. The event was given to the Soviet Union instead. All Olympia Gymnastics Center
The All Olympia Gymnastics Center or AOGC is a one-facility gymnastics gym in Calabasas. The head coaches are 1983 World Vault Champion Artur Akopyan and 1980 Olympian Galina Marinova. Their notable elite gymnasts are 2012 Olympic Champion McKayla Maroney, 2010 World Team Member Mattie Larson and Stanford Cardinal Samantha Shapiro. History AOGC has had numerous successes at National Level as well as on the International stage, representing Team USA. AOGC is owned by former Olympic gymnast Galina Marinova and World Champion/Olympian Artur Akopyan. Many of their gymnasts have gotten scholarships to major university’s, competed in the world championships, and Olympics. In 2010, AOGC had a new member, Junior elite gymnast McKayla Maroney transferred from Gym-Max Gymnastics in Costa Mesa.
