Galesburg High School
Galesburg Junior Senior High School (also known as Galesburg High School) is a public high school in Galesburg, Illinois. Galesburg Junior Senior High School was established in 1861 in downtown Galesburg. It has since moved to Fremont Street on the west side of town. The school is located on of land with a full lighted football field, two baseball fields, two softball fields, a soccer field, a full gymnasium, auditorium, and 2 separate buildings, one with another gym and a swimming pool, and one with 2 basketball courts, a weight room, a track, and a space for baseball, softball and other sports. A new sports facility was finished in 2014 that has created a more centralized campus and has also made it more sports-friendly for girls involvement in sports. The new multi-purpose facility houses locker rooms, weight rooms, storage as well as more room for physical education classes. Galesburg is a city in Knox County, Illinois, United States. The city is northwest of Peoria, Illinois, Peoria. At the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census, its population was 32,195. Sewall Green Wright ForMemRS HonFRSE (December 21, 1889March 3, 1988) was an American geneticist known for his influential work on evolutionary theory and also for his work on path analysis. He was a founder of population genetics alongside Ronald Fisher and J. B. S. Haldane, which was a major step in the development of the modern synthesis combining genetics with evolution. Jim Sundberg
James Howard Sundberg (born May 18, 1951) is an American former professional baseball player, television sports analyst, and executive. He played in Major League Baseball as a catcher from 1974 to 1989, most prominently as a member of the Texas Rangers where he established himself as one of the top defensive catchers of his era. A three-time All-Star player, Sundberg won six consecutive Gold Glove Awards during his tenure with the Rangers. Aaron Fike (born November 24, 1982) is an American racing driver, a former competitor in NASCAR and USAC. The younger brother of A. J. Fike, he was suspended from NASCAR competition from 2007 to 2012 due to a drug-related arrest. Open-wheel career Fike began racing in 2001 in the USAC Silver Crown Series, where he became the youngest driver to win a Silver Crown race (breaking Jeff Gordon's record). Pioneer Zephyr
The ''Pioneer Zephyr'' is a diesel engine, diesel-powered trainset built by the Budd Company in 1934 for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad (CB&Q), commonly known as the Burlington Route. The trainset was the second internal combustion-powered streamliner built for mainline service in the United States (after the Union Pacific Railroad's M-10000), the first such train powered by a diesel engine, and the first to enter revenue service. The trainset consists of one power/storage car, one baggage/Railway post office, RPO/buffet/coach car, and one coach/observation car. The cars are made of stainless steel, permanently articulated together with Jacobs bogies.
