Gaia Pope-Sutherland
Gaia Pope, also known as Gaia Kima Pope-Sutherland, (2 July 1998), was a British teenager who went missing in November 2017 at age 19. Her body was found 11 days after her disappearance. Background Early life Gaia Pope was born on 2 July 1998 in Swanage, Dorset to Richard Sutherland and Kim Pope. She had a twin sister, Maya, as well as an older sister, Clara. She attended Brockenhurst College in the New Forest. 2013 - 2015 In 2013, Gaia Pope was provisionally diagnosed with epilepsy. Swanage
Swanage () is a coastal town and civil parish in the south east of Dorset, England. It is at the eastern end of the Isle of Purbeck and one of its two towns, approximately south of Poole and east of Dorchester. In the 2011 census the civil parish had a population of 9,601. Poole () is a large coastal town and seaport in Dorset, on the south coast of England. The town is east of Dorchester and adjoins Bournemouth to the east. Wareham, Dorset
Wareham ( ) is a historic market town and, under the name Wareham Town, a civil parish, in the English county of Dorset. The town is situated on the River Frome eight miles (13 km) southwest of Poole. Situation and geography The town is built on a strategic dry point between the River Frome and the River Piddle at the head of the Wareham Channel of Poole Harbour. The Frome Valley runs through an area of unresistant sand, clay and gravel rocks, and much of its valley has wide flood plains and marsh land. At its estuary the river has formed the wide shallow ria of Poole Harbour. Wareham is built on a low dry island between the marshy river plains. Dorset Search And Rescue
Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR) is a Registered Charity who work with Dorset Police, HM Coastguard & other emergency services in the search and recovery of missing persons and other search related incidents. The organisation is affiliated with the Association of Lowland Search And Rescue, who are the governing body for all lowland search and rescue teams. They are analogous to a mountain search and rescue team, but instead cover the complex lowland areas in Dorset, which include the sheer cliffs around the Isle of Portland, the Dorset Downs, and the Jurassic Coast, as well as several large heathlands. National Police Air Service
The National Police Air Service (NPAS) is a police aviation service that provides centralised air support to the 43 territorial police forces in England and Wales, as well as the three special police forces serving that area. It replaced the previous structure whereby police forces operated their own helicopters, either individually or in small consortia (such as the South East Air Support Unit). The project was coordinated by Alex Marshall (the then Chief Constable of Hampshire Police). West Yorkshire Police is the lead force, and the service is coordinated from the NPAS Operations Centre, at Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
