Galactic Center GeV Excess
The Galactic Center GeV Excess (GCE) is an unexpected surplus of gamma-ray radiation in the center of the Milky Way The Milky Way or Milky Way Galaxy is the galaxy that includes the Solar System, with the name describing the #Appearance, galaxy's appearance from Earth: a hazy band of light seen in the night sky formed from stars in other arms of the galax ... Galaxy. This spherical source of radiation was first detected in 2009 by the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and is unexplained by direct observation. Two percent of the gamma ray radiation in a 30° radius circle around the Galactic Center is attributed to the GCE. , this excessive (and diffused) gamma-ray radiation is not well understood by astronomers. Some astronomers argue that self-annihilating dark matter (which is not otherwise known to radiate) may be the cause of the GCE, while others prefer a population of pulsars (which have not been observed) as the source. Astronomers have suggested that self-ann ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Gas Control Equipment
Gas is a state of matter that has neither a fixed volume nor a fixed shape and is a compressibility, compressible fluid. A ''pure gas'' is made up of individual atoms (e.g. a noble gas like neon) or molecules of either a single type of atom (chemical element, elements such as oxygen) or from different atoms (chemical compound, compounds such as carbon dioxide). A ''gas mixture'', such as air, contains a variety of pure gases. What distinguishes gases from liquids and solids is the vast separation of the individual gas particles. This separation can make some gases invisible to the human observer. The gaseous state of matter occurs between the liquid and plasma states, the latter of which provides the upper-temperature boundary for gases. Bounding the lower end of the temperature scale lie degenerative quantum gases which are gaining increasing attention. High-density atomic gases super-cooled to very low temperatures are classified by their statistical behavior as either Bose ga ... General Certificate Of Education
The General Certificate of Education (GCE) is a subject-specific family of academic qualifications used in examination board, awarding bodies in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Education in the Crown dependencies, Crown dependencies and a few Commonwealth countries. For some time, the Education in Scotland, Scottish education system has been different from those in the other countries of the United Kingdom. The GCE is composed of three levels; they are, in increasing order of difficulty: * the GCE Ordinary Level, Ordinary Level ("O Level"); * the Advanced Subsidiary Level ("A1 Level" or "AS Level"), higher than the O Level, serving as a level in its own right, and functioning as a precursor to the full Advanced Level; and * Advanced Level ("A Level"). The General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE "A Levels") is an entry qualification for universities in the United Kingdom and many other locations worldwide. United Kingdom England and Wales The General Certificate ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Global Citizenship Education
Global citizenship education (GCED) is a form of civic learning that involves students' active participation in projects that address global issues of a social, political, economic, or environmental nature. The two main elements of GCE are ' global consciousness'; the moral or ethical aspect of global issues, and 'global competencies', or skills meant to enable learners to participate in changing and developing the world. The promotion of GCE was a response by governments and NGOs to the emergence of supranational institution, regional economic blocs, and the development of information and communications technologies. These have all resulted in the emergence of a more globally oriented and collaborative approach to education. GCE addresses themes such as peace and human rights, intercultural understanding, citizenship education, respect for diversity and tolerance, and inclusiveness. GCE provides the overall lens which views the role of education in the promotion of the rul ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Google Compute Engine
Google Compute Engine (GCE) is the infrastructure as a service (IaaS) component of Google Cloud Platform which is built on the global infrastructure that runs Google's search engine, Gmail, YouTube and other services. Google Compute Engine enables users (utilising authentication based on OAuth 2.0) to launch virtual machines (VMs) on demand. VMs can be launched from the standard images or custom images created by users. Google Compute Engine can be accessed via the Developer Console, RESTful API or command-line interface (CLI). History Google announced Compute Engine on June 28, 2012 at Google I/O 2012 in a limited preview mode. In April 2013, GCE was made available to customers with Gold Support Package. On February 25, 2013, Google announced that RightScale was their first reseller. During Google I/O 2013, many features including sub-hour billing, shared-core instance types, larger persistent disks, enhanced SDN based networking capabilities and ISO/IEC 27001 certificati ... Ground Combat Element
In the United States Marine Corps, the ground combat element (GCE) is the land force of a Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF). It provides power projection and force for the MAGTF. Role within the MAGTF The ground combat element (GCE), composed primarily of infantry units (infantry battalions organized into battalion landing teams, regimental combat teams, and Marine divisions). These organizations contain a headquarters unit that provides command and control (management and planning for manpower, intelligence, operations and training, and logistics functions) as well as scout/sniper, forward air controllers, aviation liaison/forward air controller, nuclear/biological/chemical defense, communications, service (supply, motor transport, weapons maintenance, and dining facility), and Navy combat medical and chaplain's corps personnel. Guthrie Corridor Expressway
Guthrie Corridor Expressway, GCE, (Malay Language, Malay: ''Lebuhraya Koridor Guthrie'') is an expressway in Klang Valley, Selangor, Malaysia. It connects Shah Alam to Rawang, Selangor, Rawang. GCE is approximately ( long on the Prolintas sections and on the PLUS Expressway sections). Named after the corridor of estates where 80 percent of the land acquired was from the plantation company Guthrie Berhad (later merged in 2007 with two other two other companies to form Sime Darby), all project costs, including land acquisition of the expressway, were completely borne by the concessionaire. Today this expressway is owned by Prolintas and its subsidiary Prolintas Expressway Sdn Bhd. The starting point of the highway or 'Kilometre Zero' is located at the Jalan Monfort intersection near Shah Alam. History Plans to build the 30 km-long expressway, named after Guthrie (company), Kumpulan Guthrie's corridor of estates in Selangor, began in late 1996. The expressway would be a way to ...
