G15 (housing Associations)
The G15 is an organisation of the largest housing associations in and around Greater London in the United Kingdom The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain, is a country in Europe, off the north-western coast of the European mainland, continental mainland. It comprises England, Scotlan ..., which collectively are responsible for managing in the region of 600,000 homes in London. They state their purpose as "working to solve the housing crisis by delivering good quality, affordable homes of all types". In February 2023, the G15 group confirmed that Fiona Fletcher-Smith, group CEO of L&Q, has been appointed as the network’s chair. The moves came after confirmation that current vice-chair Richard Hill (CEO of One Housing), will be joining BPHA as its new head in April. Housing Association
In Ireland and the United Kingdom, housing associations are private, Non-profit organization, non-profit making organisations that provide low-cost "Public housing in the United Kingdom, social housing" for people in need of a home. Any budget surplus is used to maintain existing housing and to help finance new homes and it cannot be used for personal benefit of directors or shareholders. Although independent, they are regulated by the state and commonly receive public funding. They are now the United Kingdom's major providers of new housing for renting, rent, while many also run equity sharing, shared ownership schemes to help those who cannot afford to buy a home outright. Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) is a housing association formed in April 2018 by the merger of Notting Hill Housing and Genesis Housing Association. Notting Hill Genesis’ primary purpose is to work in the community to provide decent and affordable homes for lower-income households. It is one of the largest housing associations in South East England. It owns around 55,000 properties in London and a further 9,000 in the home counties and East Anglia, housing about 170,000 people. One Housing Group
One Housing Group is a housing association based in London and the south east of the United Kingdom. They manage 16,000 homes and provide support to residents who needs special help, through their social care arm, One Support. As of 2015-16, they had an annual turnover of £255m and employed ~1800 staff. Their Chief Executive is Richard Hill, and they are a member of the National Housing Federation. Their housing stock is mainly in the London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Newham, Tower Hamlets and the City of Westminster, as well as in Berkshire. Hyde Group is a housing association in London. It is a member of the G15. It operates in London, the South East, the East of England and the East Midlands. Hyde Housing Association was established in 1967 following a meeting in Sidcup to help people excluded from the mainstream housing market, by providing them with decent, affordable homes and managing them properly. Metropolitan Thames Valley, formed from the merge of Metropolitan Housing Trust and Thames Valley Housing Association in 2018, is a housing association (HA) in the United Kingdom with origins back to the 1950s. The Trust manages nearly 38,000 homes and is based in Southgate, London.
