G. Pat Collins, also known as George Pat Collins or Pat Collins (born George Percy Collins; December 16, 1895 – August 5, 1959) was an American actor of the stage and screen. Biography Collins was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1895. After serving in the United States Army during World War I, Collins began his acting career in the New York theater scene. His first Broadway appearance was in the 1922 play, ''The Bootleggers'', a short-lived comedy which was produced at the 39th Street Theatre in November and December of that year. He would appear in ten plays between 1922 and 1938. His film career would last slightly longer, mostly as a character actor or in smaller roles, from 1928 through 1958, during which time he appeared in over 100 films. Collins often played earnest roles like police or military officers. ''Girl Missing'' is a 1933 American pre-Code mystery film starring Glenda Farrell, Ben Lyon and Mary Brian. It was directed by Robert Florey and released by Warner Bros. on March 4, 1933. Two women stranded in Palm Beach become involved in the case of a new bride who goes missing on her wedding night. Plot Kay Curtis (Glenda Farrell) and June Dale (Mary Brian) are two showgirls living in the Palm Beach hotel. When June refuses one of her wealthy male friend's sexual advances, he chooses to let June and Kay pay for their own hotel bills. ''Hold 'Em Jail'' is a 1932 American pre-Code comedy film starring Wheeler and Woolsey. They play a couple of boobs who are wrongfully convicted for firearm possession and sent to prison, where they somehow end up playing on the warden's football team. Warden Edgar Kennedy is not above framing innocent people into prison and blackmailing them into playing on his football team in exchange for being eventually proven innocent. Wheeler and Woolsey are wise to the racket, but Kennedy has to treat them with kid gloves because his old maid sister (Oliver) is in love with one of them. Rare for the duo, the film is a straight comedy with no musical numbers. It is also noteworthy for giving Betty Grable her first substantial role after appearances as a Goldwyn Girl and in bit parts.
