G. Krishnaiah
G. Krishnaiah (8 February 1957 – 5 December 1994) was an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1985 batch who was killed in Muzaffarpur, Bihar by the mob led by a few politicians. At the time of death in 1994, he was 37 years old and serving as the District Magistrate (DM) of Gopalganj district, the home district of the then CM Lalu Prasad Yadav. In memory of his death and service, a statue of him with a pen in pocket has been erected in Gopalganj Death In 2007 Patna District Court convicted six politicians for his killing. The politicians convicted include Anand Mohan Singh and his wife Lovely Anand (both ex-MPs), Vijay Kumar Shukla known as "Munna Shukla" (MLA), Akhlaq Ahmed and Arun Kumar (both ex-MLAs), Harendra Kumar (senior JDU leader) and SS Thakur. Vijay Kumar Shukla
Vijay Kumar Shukla, also known as Munna Shukla, is a former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bihar. He has been elected on three occasions to the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He served a jail term for murder. He was left out of jail on bail later. Family and education He is the brother of Chhotan Shukla, a notorious gang member who was assassinated in 1994, allegedly by the henchmen of Brij Bihari Prasad, a minister belonging to OBC Bania caste, who was a strongman from Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal. His another brother Bhutkun Shukla who was responsible for killing G. Krishnaiah, the District Magistrate (DM) of Gopalganj during Chhotan's funeral procession and is now also dead. Lovely Anand is an Indian politician and former member of the 10th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India and also the granddaughter of Freedom Fighter Rameshwar Prasad Sinha. She comes from a well connected political family as her mother's cousin Madhuri Singh was a member of parliament in 1980's from Congress party. But her political career started as the debutant candidate for the new Bihar People's Party established by her husband, Anand Mohan Singh, Lovely Anand had defeated a heavyweight parliamentarian Kishori Sinha, the wife of former Bihar Chief Minister Satyendra Narayan Sinha, in a 1994 Lok Sabha by-election in the north Bihar constituency of Vaishali. Muzaffarpur () is a city located in Muzaffarpur district in the Tirhut region of the Indian state of Bihar. Anand Mohan Singh (born 28 January 1954) is a convicted killer, politician and was founder of the now-defunct Bihar People's Party (BPP). , he is serving a life sentence for abetting murder; prior to reduction to this term on appeal, he had been the first politician in independent India to be given the death penalty. Lalu Prasad Yadav (born 11 June 1948) is an Indian politician and president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He is a former List of Chief Ministers of Bihar, Chief Minister of Bihar (1990-1997), a former Ministry of Railways (India), Railway Minister of India (2004-2009), and a former Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Member of Parliament (MP) of the Lok Sabha.
