Sainte-Félicité is a municipality in La Matanie Regional County Municipality of Quebec, Canada, located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River. It is named after Felicitas of Rome, a martyred saint. Its economy is based on fishing and agriculture. Notable people who came from Sainte-Félicité include Québécois pop singer Isabelle Boulay, who was born there in 1972. Félicité Carrel was an Italian mountaineer, known for her 1867 attempt to climb Mount Matterhorn. Biography Carrel was the daughter of Italian mountaineer Jean-Antoine Carrel Jean-Antoine Carrel (1829 – August 1891) was an Italian mountain climber and guide. Félicité Fernig (1770–1841) and Théophile Fernig (1775–1819), known as the Sœurs Fernig (Fernig sisters), were two sisters who dressed as men and enlisted in the French Revolutionary Army during the French Revolutionary Wars. They were allowed to remain in service after their sex was discovered and became celebrities who were frequently mentioned in the contemporary French press. Biographies Félicité and Théophile were born to Marie Adrienne Bassez and Sergeant François Louis Joseph Fernig, who served in the cavalry and educated his daughters in the use of weapons. When the Austrians invaded France in 1792, the sisters dressed as men, enlisted in the army, and were admired for their courage. Félicité du Jeu is a French actress. She is best known for her role as DC Stella Goodman in the BBC drama '' Waking the Dead''. Early life Du Jeu studied at the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique de Saint-Germain-en-Laye from 1992 to 1996, and took the Jean Périmony course the following two years, for which she received the Louis Jouvet prize in 1997. She went on to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and received a special commendation for the Ian Charleson Award for her role as Katherine in ''Henry V'' in 2003 with the National Theatre. Before that most of her experience had been gained in theatre in France including Théâtre Dejazet and Théâtre de Boulogne. ''Félicité'' is a 2017 Senegalese drama film set in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and directed by Alain Gomis. It was selected to compete for the Golden Bear in the main competition section of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival. At Berlin, the film won the Jury Grand Prix award.
