Färjestaden is a locality situated in Mörbylånga Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 5,018 inhabitants in 2010. It is located in the southern part on the island of Öland, on the Kalmar Strait-side of the island, south of Borgholm. Färjestaden, literally ''The Ferry Town'', is named after the ferries that used to be the only connection to the mainland. Nowadays the car-bridge Ölandsbron connects the mainland with the island, and Färjestaden has had an impressive population increase, making it several times bigger than the town Mörbylånga. In the city center of Färjestaden there is a shopping mall with, among other things, a pharmacy, grocery store and local library. Swedish Division 3
Division 3 is the fifth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 144 Swedish football teams. Division 3 had status as the official third level from 1928 to 1986, but was replaced by Division 2 in 1987. It then had status as the official fourth level until 2005, but was replaced once again as Division 1 was recreated in 2006. The competition There are 144 clubs in Division 3, divided in 12 groups of 12 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 22 games. Mörbylånga Municipality
Mörbylånga Municipality (''Mörbylånga kommun'') is a municipality in Kalmar County, in south-eastern Sweden, located on the island of Öland in the Baltic Sea. The seat is located in the town of Mörbylånga, while the largest town is Färjestaden. The present municipality, making up the southern part of Öland, was formed in 1974. The eighteen original entities (as of 1863) had during the nationwide subdivision reform of 1952 been regrouped into three larger units. ''Ottenby'' was amalgamated with Mörbylånga in 1967 and 1974 ''Torslunda'' was added. Mörbylånga Municipality contains several ancient remains, just like the northern Öland municipality of Borgholm.
