Future Veneto
Autonomists for Europe ( it, Autonomisti per l'Europa, ApE) was a minor regionalist, Christian-democratic and liberal Italian political party. Founded in 2000 by splinters of Northern League as a potentially dangerous competitor, it became a rather marginal force. The party was mainly composed by moderate members of the Northern League who wanted to join forces with Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia, at a time when the League was perceived to be closer to the centre-left. Its leading members were Vito Gnutti and Domenico Comino, both former Ministers for Northern League in the Berlusconi I Cabinet. Domenico Comino
Domenico Comino (born 27 September 1955) is an Italian politician, who served as the minister of European affairs and state minister in the mid-1990s. Biography Comino was born in Morozzo on 27 September 1955. He is one of the former leaders of Lega Nord. He served as state minister for the EU relations in the first cabinet of Silvio Berlusconi in 1994. Comino was one of the five Lega members in the cabinet who resigned from office in December 1994 in order to vote against Berlusconi in the censure motion. Comino served in the Italian parliament for three successive periods between 1992 and 1997. Until 1999 he was the Lega Nord's president of the Piedmont region. Berlusconi I Cabinet
The first Berlusconi government was the 51st government of the Italian Republic. It was the first right-wing and non-Christian Democrats government since World War II. Berlusconi resigned on 22 December 1994. History In order to win the March 1994 general election Berlusconi formed two electoral alliances: Pole of Freedoms with the Northern League in northern Italian districts, and another, the Pole of Good Government, with the post-fascist National Alliance (heir to the Italian Social Movement) in central and southern regions. He did not ally with the latter in the North because the League disliked them. As a result, Forza Italia was allied with two parties that were not allied with each other.
