Future Forward Party
The Future Forward Party (FFP) ( th, พรรคอนาคตใหม่, , ; literally 'New Future Party') was a political party in Thailand founded in March 2018 by Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, former vice president of Thai Summit Group, and Piyabutr Saengkanokkul, a legal scholar. It was founded on a progressive platform that sought to restrain the military's power in Thai politics, decentralize the bureaucracy, and improve social and economic equality. The party was dissolved by the Constitutional Court on 21 February 2020. History In September 2018, the Future Forward Party was officially recognized by the Election Commission, allowing the party to start registering members and solicit funding. Move Forward Party
The Move Forward Party ( th, พรรคก้าวไกล, ) is a social democratic and progressive political party in Thailand that opposes the remaining influence of the military junta, which ruled the country from 2014 to 2019. It was founded in 2014 as the Ruam Pattana Chart Thai Party ( th, พรรคร่วมพัฒนาชาติไทย) and later changed its name to the Phung Luang Party ( th, พรรคผึ้งหลวง), but after the 2019 Thai general election, reverted to its original name. It obtained its current name in 2020 after becoming the de facto successor to the dissolved Future Forward Party. The Election Commission ( th, คณะกรรมการการเลือกตั้ง, ) is an independent government agency and the sole election management body of Thailand. It oversees government elections (parliamentary elections and local elections) as well as referendums throughout the Kingdom of Thailand. Ramkhamhaeng University (RU) ( th, มหาวิทยาลัยรามคำแหง) is Thailand's largest public university. It was named in honour of King Ramkhamhaeng the Great of Sukhothai. Chartthaipattana Party
The Chartthaipattana Party ( th, พรรคชาติไทยพัฒนา ''Phak Chat Thai Phatthana'', (CP) ''Thai Nation Development Party'') was founded on 18 April 2008, in anticipation of the 2 December 2008, Constitutional Court of Thailand ruling which dissolved the Chart Thai Party and banned its executive members from participating in politics for five years beginning on that date. Numerous former members of the Chart Thai Party joined the Chart Thai Patthana Party; therefore, the Chart Thai Pattana party is its ''de facto'' successor. Pita Limjaroenrat ( th, พิธา ลิ้มเจริญรัตน์, , ; born 5 September 1980), nicknamed Tim ( th, ทิม), is a Thai politician and businessman. A member of the House of Representatives, Pita is the leader of the Move Forward Party, the ''de facto'' successor to the dissolved Future Forward Party. Pita led Move Forward to become the largest party in the 2023 general election, winning 151 seats. He hoped to be elected prime minister of Thailand. In the first round of parliamentary voting on 13 July 2023, he was unsuccessful. Later on 19 July, he was suspended from being a MP by the Constitutional Court over shares of defunct broadcaster ITV. Bhumjaithai Party (BJT; th, พรรคภูมิใจไทย, , ; 'Thai Pride Party') was founded on 5 November 2008, in anticipation of the 2 December 2008 Constitutional Court of Thailand ruling that dissolved its "de facto predecessor", the Neutral Democratic Party, along with the People's Power Party (PPP), and the Thai Nation Party. Prayut Chan-o-cha (sometimes spelled Prayuth Chan-ocha; th, ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา, ; born 21 March 1954) is a Thai politician and retired army officer who has served as the Prime Minister of Thailand since he seized power in a military coup in 2014.
