Fusionopolis
Fusionopolis (Chinese: 启汇城) is a research and development complex located at the one-north business park in Singapore. It houses various research organizations, high-tech companies, government agencies, retail outlets, and serviced apartments in one location. Situated in Buona Vista, it is close to the ESSEC and INSEAD Asia Campuses, the National University of Singapore, the Singapore Polytechnic, the Institute of Technical Education, the National University Hospital, the Singapore Science Park, the Biopolis, and the Ministry of Education. It is served by the one-north MRT station connected to the basement of the building. The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore. The agency supports R&D that is aligned to areas of competitive advantage and national needs for Singapore. One-north
One-north (stylized as one-north) is a subzone of Queenstown, Singapore, first developed by JTC Corporation as the country's research and development and high technology cluster. It was first conceptualised in 1991 as part of the National Technology Plan and officially launched on 4 December 2001 by then Deputy Prime Minister Tony Tan Keng Yam. The precinct is split into 9 main developments: Biopolis, Fusionopolis, Mediapolis, Vista, LaunchPad @ one-north, Nepal Hill, Rochester Park, Wessex, and Pixel. One-north MRT Station
one-north MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Circle line in Queenstown, Singapore. Located between Ayer Rajah Avenue and Portsdown Road underneath Fusionopolis Place within one-north, this is the only MRT station to have a name that starts with an uncapitalised letter and includes a hyphen. The station takes its name from the one-north business park, a reference to Singapore's latitude being (slightly over) one degree north of the equator. The station is nestled within the basement of Fusionopolis, a research and development complex comprising retail outlets and serviced apartments. Ken Yeang
Ken Yeang (6 October 1948) is an architect, ecologist, planner and author from Malaysia, best known for his ecological architecture and ecomasterplans that have a distinctive green aesthetic. He pioneered an ecology-based architecture (since 1971), working on the theory and practice of sustainable design. Kisho Kurokawa
(April 8, 1934 – October 12, 2007) was a leading Japanese architect and one of the founders of the Metabolist Movement. Biography Born in Kanie, Aichi, Kurokawa studied architecture at Kyoto University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1957. He then attended University of Tokyo, under the supervision of Kenzo Tange. Kurokawa received a master's degree in 1959. Kurokawa then went on to study for a doctorate of philosophy, but subsequently dropped out in 1964. Kisho Kurokawa was conferred an Honorary Doctorate of Architecture by the Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia in Sept. 7, 2002. With colleagues, he cofounded the Metabolist Movement in 1960, whose members were known as Metabolists.
