''Further Adventures of'' is the eighth studio album by Canadian singer/songwriter Bruce Cockburn. The album was released in 1978 by True North Records. The title of the album is not "Further Adventures of Bruce Cockburn" and the original album cover the title is simply "Further Adventures of". The album cover displays a picture of a small globe of the Earth after the title, implying that the adventures referred to are those of the planet Earth, not of Cockburn. In 1996, alternative rock group Primitive Radio Gods had a hit with the song "Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth with Money in My Hand", but that song is different from the song with nearly the same name on this album. Bruce Douglas Cockburn ( ; born May 27, 1945) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist. His song styles range from folk to jazz-influenced rock and his lyrics cover a broad range of topics including human rights, environmental issues, politics, and Christianity. Cockburn has written more than 350 songs on 34 albums over a career spanning 50 years, of which 22 have received a Canadian gold or platinum certification as of 2018, and he has sold over one million albums in Canada alone. Shingoose
Curtis Jonnie (26 October 1946 – 12 January 2021), better known by his stage name Shingoose, was an Ojibwe singer and songwriter from Canada. He played in Roy Buchanan's band during the early part of his career. He also recorded with Bruce Cockburn in his first album, ''Native Country''. Shingoose was inducted into the Manitoba Music Hall of Fame in 2012. Early life Shingoose was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 26 October 1946. He was a member of the Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation. At the age of four, he was adopted by a Mennonite family in Steinbach as part of the Sixties Scoop. As a child in Steinbach, he grew up with Patrick Friesen, who later became a notable poet. Brent Arthur Titcomb (born August 10, 1940 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian actor and musician. He plays guitar, percussion, harmonica, and jaw harp. Music career Titcomb was the original member of the folk-rock group 3's A Crowd. They began in 1965, in Vancouver, and later moved to Toronto. They played coffeehouses and festivals. In concert, he was the comic of the group where he used an odd-sounding vacuum cleaner as part of the routine. They released an album titled ''Christopher's Movie Matinee'', with the help of Cass Elliott. In 1968, Titcomb went solo and toured Canada and parts of Europe. "Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth with Money in My Hand" is a song by American alternative rock group Primitive Radio Gods. Their debut single, it was released from the soundtrack to the 1996 black comedy film ''The Cable Guy'' and was also included on the band's first album, ''Rocket''.
