Fursy Teyssier
Fursy Teyssier (born 22 September 1985) is a French songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist musician, album cover artist and animated film director. He is most known for being the creator, leader, guitarist, bass guitarist and lead vocalist of shoegazing band Les Discrets. He is currently live bass guitarist for Empyrium. He is also the former guitarist and bass guitarist of Amesoeurs, and the former live bassist of Alcest (he also composed and performed "Abysses" in ''Écailles de Lune''). Since 27 December 2015 he is a live member of German gothic metal band The Vision Bleak; he previously directed the music video for their song "The Wood Hag". As a cover artist, he has made cover art for most of Alcest and Les Discrets' albums, and for various other bands, including Agalloch and Morbid Angel. He also directed several animated short films. Les Discrets
Les Discrets is a French post-rock project created and led by Fursy Teyssier as a "platform gathering music and art." Teyssier was the sole member of the band until 2009, when he was joined by Audrey Hadorn and Winterhalter. Les Discrets released '' Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées'' in March 2010, '' Ariettes oubliées...'' in February 2012 and, after Winterhalter left the band in 2013, '' Prédateurs'', in April 2017, which saw a transition towards an indie rock and trip hop-oriented sound. The band considers its name to mean "Those who keep silent", although "The Discreet Ones" would be more an accurate translation. Shoegaze (originally called shoegazing and sometimes conflated with "dream pop") is a subgenre of indie and alternative rock characterized by its ethereal mixture of obscured vocals, guitar distortion and effects, feedback, and overwhelming volume.Pete Prown / Harvey P. Arctic Plateau
Arctic Plateau is an Italian post-rock and shoegaze one-man band formed by Gianluca Divirgilio in 2006. He released part of his early raw songs on Myspace and signed with Prophecy Productions in 2008. Divirgilio describes his music as "Music Explicitly Dreamed". Biography The first song, "Eight Years Old", was composed in June 2006. In the same year, Gianluca composed other instrumental tracks, and recorded two songs called "Coldream" and "On a Sad Sunny Day"; he released part of these raw songs on Myspace. In March 2007, he decided to record a promo CD in Emerald Recordings Studio in Rome, with the help of Fabio Fraschini on bass (previous session man for Novembre), Cesare Petulicchio on drums (Bud Spencer Blues Explosion), and Luigi Colasanti Antonelli as a sound engineer. ''Les Discrets/Arctic Plateau'' is a split record by les Discrets and Arctic Plateau released in 2011, giving an insight in the artists upcoming releases, '' Ariettes oubliées...'' and'' The Enemy Inside'' respectively. ''Prédateurs'' () is the third full-length album by French band Les Discrets, released on April 21, 2017, by Prophecy Productions. It is their first album without drummer Winterhalter, who left in 2013 to focus on his other band, Alcest, and therefore their first as a duo. Self-described as "the soundtrack of a slow film noir happening in a train where the journey leads the auditor to several places seen from the windows", ''Prédateurs'' is a musical departure from the shoegazing and post-rock sound of previous albums, shifting towards an indie rock sound influenced by electronic music, trip hop, and 1970's film soundtracks. Agalloch () was an American extreme metal band from Portland, Oregon. Formed in 1995 by frontman John Haughm, they released five full-length albums, four EPs, two singles, one split single, two demos, four compilation albums and one live video album. They announced their disbandment in May 2016.
