Furiosa (film)
''Furiosa'' is an upcoming Australian-American post-apocalyptic action adventure film directed by George Miller from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nico Lathouris. It serves as both a spin-off and a prequel to '' Mad Max: Fury Road'' (2015), as well as the fifth overall installment of the ''Mad Max'' franchise. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the titular character Imperator Furiosa, with Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, and Quaden Bayles in supporting roles. In March 2020, it was reported that Miller was conducting casting auditions for the titular role of the film, with Taylor-Joy in the mix. In October, the film was announced to be in development, with Taylor Joy confirmed to be playing the title role and Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II cast to co-star. Due to a scheduling conflict, Abdul-Mateen II exited the project in November, with Burke cast to replace him.
