"Funkorama" is a song by American rapper Redman. It was released on December 19, 1995 via Interscope Records as the first single from '' The Erick Sermon Compilation Album Insomnia''. Written and produced by Redman, it samples "Midnight" by A Tribe Called Quest and "Stick 'Em" by The Fat Boys. The single peaked at number 81 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in the United States. ''Insomnia'' is a hip-hop compilation album presented by American rapper and record producer Erick Sermon. It was released on April 23, 1996 via Interscope Records. Recording sessions took place at Mirror Image, at the Music Palace, and at Rockin' Reel Recording Studios in New York, and at Chuck Simone Studio. Production was handled primarily by Sermon, who also served as executive producer, Redman, and co-producers Rockwilder and Ty Fyffe. Beside Sermon, it features contributions from fellow artists affiliated with or discovered by him, such as Calif, Domo, Duo, Jamal, Keith Murray, L.O.D., Passion, Redman, The Wixtons, Xross-Breed, and Thomas "Tommy Gunn" Blincoe, who was murdered shortly before the album's release, and to whom this album is dedicated. Reginald Noble (born April 17, 1970), better known by his stage name Redman, is an American rapper, DJ, record producer, and actor. He rose to fame in the early 1990s as an artist on the Def Jam label. He is well known for his collaborations with his close friend Method Man, as one-half of the rap duo Method Man & Redman, including their starring roles in films and sitcoms. He was also a member of the Def Squad in the late 1990s. Tyrone "Ty" Fyffe (also known as Sugarless) is an American record producer from Queens borough of New York City. During his career he produced tracks for MC Lyte, Foxy Brown, Slick Rick, Ja Rule, Canibus, Jayo Felony, Queen Pen, Cam'ron, 54th Platoon and Royce da 5'9", remixed songs for LL Cool J, The Party, Royal Flush, Robin Thicke and Nas, and collaborated with Teddy Riley, Erick Sermon, Irv Gotti and Dr. Dre. Fyffe met Teddy Riley through fellow music engineer Franklin Grant. In 1992, Fyffe joined Riley, Grant, David Wynn and Wreckx-n-Effect on the production duties of ''Hard or Smooth'', which spawned the hit song " Rump Shaker".
