Funk Mobb
Funk Mobb was an American, short lived rap group composed of Bay Area rappers, K-1, G-Note and Mac Shawn who were signed by Sick Wid It and Jive Records. They were only active from 1994 to 1998, first appearing on Little Bruce's debut album, XXXtra Mannish and then releasing their one and only album in 1996, ''It Ain't 4 Play''. It peaked at number 46 on the ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and at number 28 on the ''Billboard'' Top Heatseekers. After the album the group would disband with Mac Shawn releasing two albums, 1997's ''Music fo' the Mobb'' and 2001's ''Worldwide Bosses and Playas'' and even joining Death Row Records for a short while. In 1999 G-Note joined No Limit Records and changed his name to Lil Italy. There he released his debut solo album, ''On Top of da World''. Death Row Records
Death Row Records is an American record label that was founded in 1991 by The D.O.C., Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, and Dick Griffey. The label became a sensation by releasing multi-platinum hip-hop albums by West Coast-based artists such as Dr. Dre (''The Chronic''), Snoop Dogg (''Doggystyle'', ''Tha Doggfather''), Tha Dogg Pound (''Dogg Food''), and 2Pac (''All Eyez on Me'', The Don Killuminati: 7 Day Theory) during the 1990s. N2Deep
N2Deep is an American Chicano rap duo formed in Vallejo, California in 1989. Consisting of James "Jay Tee" Trujillo and Timothy "TL" Lyon, they are best known for the 1992 hit single "Back to the Hotel", the title track of their debut album. Early third member John "Johnny Z" Zunino officially left the group as a performing member in its first year to focus exclusively on production and related behind-the-scenes responsibilities. The Hemp Museum (album)
''The Hemp Museum'' is the second solo studio album by American rapper B-Legit. It was released on November 26, 1996 through Sick Wid It/Jive Records. Production was handled by Studio Ton, Mike Mosley, Kevin Gardner, Redwine, Femi Ojetunde, Emgee, Tone Capone and B-Legit himself, who also served as executive producer. It features guest appearances from C-Bo, Levitti, Celly Cel, Daryl Hall, E-40, Kurupt, A-1 and Funk Mobb among others. The album peaked at number 55 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and number 15 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States. Along with a single, a music video was released for the song "Check It Out" featuring E-40 and Kurupt. The song "Ghetto Smile" was later used in the 1997 film '' Dangerous Ground'' and also was released as a single and a music video to promote the film's soundtrack. Full Blown (Lil Italy Album)
Lil Italy (born September 8, 1973) is an American rapper who began his career as G-Note of California rap group Funk Mobb, who were signed to E-40's label Sick With It Records from 1994 to 1998, when the group disbanded. He joined No Limit Records in 1998 under the new stage name of Lil Italy, and released his first and only album with No Limit, ''On Top of da World'', in 1999. The record peaked at #99 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and #20 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and featured guest appearances from the likes of Silkk the Shocker, Snoop Dogg, and Magic, but Lil Italy was soon dropped from the label due to poor sales. Lil Italy's second album, ''Full Blown,'' was distributed by independent label K-Lou in 2001, but it did not chart.
