Fulton J. Redman
Fulton Jarvis Redman (March 12, 1885 – September 11, 1969) was a Maine politician and newspaper editor. He was born in Ellsworth, Maine, Ellsworth and was elected as a Republican Party (United States), Republican to a term in the Maine House of Representatives in 1916. He later joined the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party and was one of the Maine Democratic Party, state organization's most prominent leaders during the first half of the 20th century. He was twice a delegate to the Democratic National Convention: first in 1924 Democratic National Convention, 1924 and then in 1940 Democratic National Convention, 1940. He ran for the U.S. Senate three times: in United States Senate election in Maine, 1924, 1924 (against Bert M. Maine House Of Representatives
The Maine House of Representatives is the lower house of the Maine Legislature. The House consists of 151 voting members and three nonvoting members. The voting members represent an equal number of districts across the state and are elected via plurality voting. The nonvoting members represent three of Maine's Native American tribes, though two tribes have declined to send representatives. Each voting member of the House represents around 9,000 citizens of the state. Because it is a part-time position, members of the Maine House of Representatives usually have outside employment as well. Members are limited to four consecutive terms of two years each, but may run again after two years. The House meets at the Maine State House in Augusta.
