Fulpmes
Fulpmes is a market town and a municipality in Stubaital, Tyrol, Austria. In 2015 it had a population of 4,250, of whom 14.5% did not have Austrian nationality. Fulpmes is the center of iron production in the area, and lies at the base of the Schlick 2000 ski area. Geography The municipality of Fulpmes belongs to the Innsbruck Land district. It has an area of , and an altitude of 936 metres (3,070 ft). The neighboring municipalities are Neustift to the west and Telfes and Mieders to the east. Fulpmes is the terminal station of the narrow-gauge railway Stubaitalbahn from Innsbruck. Stubaitalbahn
The Stubaitalbahn (Stubai Valley Railway) is an long narrow gauge interurban tram from Innsbruck to Fulpmes in Tyrol, Austria. In the city of Innsbruck, it uses the local tramway tracks. At the Stubaital station, the branch line-rated part begins. The meter gauge track starts at Innsbruck's Main station, crosses the Wilten district, and passes the villages of Natters, Mutters, Kreith, and Telfes. Stubaital
The Stubaital is an alpine valley in Tyrol, Austria. It is the central valley of the Stubai Alps. The river Ruetz flows through the valley. This 35-km long valley runs in northeastern direction from the main chain of the Alps to Schönberg im Stubaital, near Innsbruck. Below Fulpmes, the villages lie on terraces above the Ruetz on either side of the river. South of Neustift im Stubaital, the largest side valley Oberbergtal joins from the west. The ÖBB operates a 16- MW hydroelectric power plant in Fulpmes. The following five municipalities lie in the valley: Schönberg im Stubaital, Mieders, Telfes, Fulpmes and Neustift im Stubaital. Stubaier Bauerntheater
Stubaier Bauerntheater is one of the oldest peasant theatres in the Tyrol of Austria. The theatre group was founded in 1903 in Fulpmes Fulpmes is a market town and a municipality in Stubaital, Tyrol, Austria. The former led the fate of the association as chairman for more than half a century, but was also playwright, director and, from 1961, also active as an actor. Founding member Klingenschmid died in 1934. The theatre, based in the parish hall on the Torquato-Tasso-Straße in Fulpmes, Austria, as of 2012 had 10 members. Clemens Holzmeister
Clemens Holzmeister (27 March 1886 – 12 June 1983) was a prominent Austrian architect and stage designer of the early twentieth century. The Austrian Academy of Fine Arts listed his life's work as containing 673 projects. He was the father of Judith Holzmeister. Biography Holzmeister was born in the village of Fulpmes in the Tyrol state of Austria. He married with Judith Bridarolli in 1913 in Innsbruck. In 1914 His son Guido was born in Vienna. He attended the Vienna University of Technology and earned a doctorate in architecture in 1919. His daughter Judith Holzmeister was born in Innsbruck in 1920. After submitting a prize-winning design, he became the Head of the Architecture Department of Austria's Academy of Fine Arts in 1924. In 1926 he oversaw the remodelling of the Festival Theatre in Salzburg, then spent several years erecting government buildings in Ankara, Turkey. Neustift Im Stubaital
Neustift im Stubaital is a municipality in the district Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is the third largest municipality of Tyrol in area. It is a major tourist centre, with more than 1 million overnight stays per year. Geography Neustift is located 25 kilometres (15 miles) south of Innsbruck in the Stubaital or Stubai Valley. This broad valley is one of the most scenic in Tyrol. At the entrance to the valley stand massive limestone formations. Around the upper valley, peaks of gneiss and granite rise above 3,000 metres (about 10,000 feet) to areas of permanent ice. Five glaciers covering form a large glacier ski area, the Stubai Glacier. Gregor Schlierenzauer (; born 7 January 1990) is an Austrian former ski jumper who competed from 2006 to 2021. He is one of the most successful ski jumpers of all time, having won the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, Ski Jumping World Cup overall title, the Four Hills Tournament, and Nordic Tournament twice each; the FIS Ski Flying World Cup, Ski Flying World Cup overall title three times; as well as four medals at the Winter Olympics, twelve at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, Ski Jumping World Championships, and five at the FIS Ski Flying World Championships, Ski Flying World Championships. Mieders
Mieders is a municipality in the southern part of the district Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is located on the right side of the Stubaital 10.60 km south of Innsbruck. History Founded in 1100, the scattered village is located on a gently rising slope of the valley at the foot of the 2718 m high Serles. Inhabited from the early Middle Ages, the centre has houses decorated with baroque frescoes. Telfes (officially Telfes im Stubai) is a village in the district Innsbruck Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is situated in the Stubaital 11 km south of Innsbruck.
