Full Speed Ahead (D.R.I. Album)
''Full Speed Ahead'' is an album by the American crossover thrash band D.R.I., released in 1995. It is the band's final studio album. The band's former roadie, Chumly Porter, played bass. The album was not a commercial success. D.R.I. supported it by touring with Acid Bath. After the album's release, the band decided that they would no longer record any new music; however, they recorded and released the track "Against Me" in 2003. D.R.I. would not release any material until 2016, with the EP '' But Wait... There's More!'' Critical reception ''The Charlotte Observer'' called the album "teeth-gnashing thrash-core," writing that the "pulverizing, heavy guitar chords collide with rat-tat-tat drumming for World War III." The '' Arizona Daily Star'' noted that the album title "is a testament to .R.I.'sunrelenting attack." Dirty Rotten Imbeciles
Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (often abbreviated and referred to as D.R.I.) is an American crossover thrash band that formed in Houston, Texas in 1982. The band is currently composed of two of its founding members, vocalist Kurt Brecht and guitarist Spike Cassidy, as well as drummer Rob Rampy and bass player Greg Orr. D.R.I. never gained a mainstream audience, but the integration of their hardcore punk roots with thrash metal influences was a stylistic catalyst for their contemporaries most notably Suicidal Tendencies, Corrosion of Conformity, Stormtroopers of Death, the Cro-Mags, Nuclear Assault and Cryptic Slaughter alongside whom they are considered to be one of the major pioneers of what would later be called "crossover thrash", along with Adrenalin O.D., with both bands having a heavy influence on modern thrash metal. Acid Bath
Acid Bath was an American sludge metal band from Houma, Louisiana, active from 1991 to 1997. Acid Bath combined doom metal roots with influences from hardcore punk, death metal, gothic rock, and blues to create the band's unique sound. They broke up after the death of bassist Audie Pitre in a traffic collision in January 1997. History Acid Bath was an incarnation of two bands, Dark Karnival which featured Audie Pitre, Sammy "Pierre" Duet, and Tommy Viator, and Golgotha which featured Dax Riggs, Mike Sanchez, Jimmy Kyle, and Jerry "Boon" Businelli. Golgotha's bassists were in frequent rotation finally culminating with Chad Pierce, who would then be succeeded by Pitre during Acid Bath's formation. Kurt Brecht
Kurt Preston Brecht (born August 24, 1961) is an American vocalist best known for his work as the singer of crossover thrash band D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles). He is also in a thrash band called Pasadena Napalm Division (P.N.D.). Career D.R.I. Born in Houston, Texas, Brecht formed D.R.I. in 1982 when he was 21 years old, along with his brother Eric on drums, Spike Cassidy on guitar and Dennis Johnson on bass. After releasing their first album in 1983, D.R.I. experienced its first lineup change, with Eric and Dennis Johnson leaving the band in 1984. Since then, D.R.I. would go through many lineup changes, although Brecht has remained constant as the vocalist alongside guitarist Spike Cassidy who also has been a permanent member.
