''Full Out'', also known as ''Full Out: The Ariana Berlin Movie'', is a 2015 drama young-adult TV movie directed by Sean Cisterna based on the life story of American gymnast Ariana Berlin. Ana Golja received a 2016 Canadian Screen Awards nomination for Best Performance in a Children's or Youth Program or Series. Plot Ariana Berlin is a promising gymnast and excels at bars. She catches the eyes of college scouts and Coach Valorie Kondos Field from UCLA. After a meet she is driving home with her mom when they meet with a car accident resulting in many fractures, a concussion, and Ariana's femur snaps and is replaced by a metal rod. She is devastated that she can't train or compete in the Olympics. Meanwhile her best friend Isla who has always been shadowed by Ariana and is under the constant watch of her Olympic-medal father, wins the silver medal at the Olympics and is admitted to UCLA under a gymnastics scholarship. Sean Cisterna is a Canadian film director and producer from Orillia, Ontario, most noted for his 2019 film '' From the Vine''.Barry Hertz, "From the Vine is worth sipping, if only for Joe Pantoliano's drunk-on-life performance". ''The Globe and Mail'', July 10, 2020. Cisterna directed a number of direct-to-video comedy and horror films before making the YTV television film ''King of the Camp'', in 2008. He followed up with the feature film ''Moon Point'' in 2011, the documentary ''30 Ghosts'' in 2013, and the feature films ''Full Out'' (2015) and ''Kiss and Cry'' (2017). In 2022 he premiered the documentary film ''The Long Rider''. Valorie Kondos Field
Valorie Kondos Field (born Valorie Kondos; August 20, 1959), often referred to as Miss Val, is a retired American gymnastics coach. She was the head coach of the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1991 to 2019, leading the Bruins to seven national championship titles. She is a four-time Conference Coach of the Year, the 2018 West Region Head Coach of the Year, and the Pac-12 Gymnastics Coach of the Century. She is the third most-winning NCAA gymnastics coach, behind Suzanne Yoculan and Greg Marsden. Early life Kondos Field grew up in Sacramento, California. Kondos Field was a professional ballet dancer at Sacramento Ballet, Capital City Ballet, and Washington Ballet. In 1982, at age twenty-two, she retired from dancing to attend the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1983, she became an assistant coach and choreographer for the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team.
