Fu-ji-tsu
"Fu-ji-tsu" (stylized in all caps) is a song recorded by Japanese singer Shizuka Kudo for her eponymous second studio album, '' Shizuka''. It was released on June 1, 1988 through Pony Canyon as the album's leading single. The song was written by Miyuki Nakajima and composed and produced by Tsugutoshi Gotō. This collaboration with a respected singer-songwriter like Nakajima, as well as Kudo's overall shift in image, were seen as a catalyst for the end of the 1980s idol phenomenon, with Kudo's career path being regarded as the blueprint for the successful transition from idol to artist. Shizuka (album)
is the second studio album by Japanese singer Shizuka Kudo. It was released on July 21, 1988, through Pony Canyon. The eponymous record is often cited as an EP, despite being officially regarded as her second album. ''Shizuka'' is entirely written and composed by Miyuki Nakajima and Tsugutoshi Gotō, respectively. Nakajima recorded a cover of the fifth track, "Hadashi no Lion", for her album '' Otogibanashi: Fairy Ring'' (2002). ''Shizuka'' was re-issued in gold CD on March 21, 1989, and later in APO-CD format on December 1, 1993. Commercial performance ''Shizuka'' debuted at number one on the Oricon Albums Chart, with 69,000 units sold in its first week, making it Kudo's first album to reach the top of the chart. It spent six non-consecutive weeks in the top ten. The album charted in the top 100 for twenty weeks, selling a reported total of 265,000 copies during its run. Daite Kuretara Ii No Ni
is a song recorded by Japanese singer Shizuka Kudo. The song was released as a single by Pony Canyon on March 2, 1988. Despite being included in several subsequent compilation albums, "Daite Kuretara Ii no ni" was never included in any studio album. An English version of the song was recorded for Kudo's 1998 ballad compilation album ''Best of Ballade: Current'', on which it is dubbed "Let Me Sleep In Your Arms". Background The release of the song marked a turning point in Kudo's career. The song was promoted as the first single since having "stripped" herself of the image created for her by Yasushi Akimoto while a member of the Akimoto-produced idol girl group Onyanko Club, commonly regarded as the precursor to AKB48. Shizuka Kudo
, known by her maiden name , is a Japanese singer, actress and former idol, born in Hamura, Tokyo, Japan. She was a member of Onyanko Club between May 1986 and September 1987 and went on to have a successful solo career with 11 number-one hits. Biography Kudo began her singing career at the age of 14 as a member of three-piece pop unit Seventeen Club consisted of runners-up from the 1984 Miss Seventeen Contest organized by Japanese teen magazine ''Seventeen'', which Shueisha publishes. They had two singles released by CBS/Sony Records in 1985. Their first single "Su Ki Futari Tomo!" was released on 21 January 1985, and was used in television advertisements for snack food products "Suzuki Kun" and "Sato Kun" manufactured and sold by S&B Foods. Miyuki Nakajima
(born February 23, 1952, Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and radio personality. She has released 43 studio albums, 46 singles, 6 live albums and multiple compilations as of January 2020. Her sales have been estimated at more than 21 million copies. In the mid-1970s, Nakajima signed to Canyon Records and launched her recording career with her debut single, "Azami Jō no Lullaby" (アザミ嬢のララバイ). Gorō Matsui
is a Japanese lyricist born 11 December 1957 in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, though he considers Tokyo to be his hometown. Beginning with participation in the Yamaha Popular Song Contests, he made his debut writing the lyrics for the 1981 Chage and Aska album . Matsui then began writing lyrics for groups such as Anzen Chitai, Kyosuke Himuro, and others, becoming one of the more popular lyricists for a variety of rock bands. He has now written the lyrics for over 2000 songs. Since the late 1980s, most of the lyrics for the music released by Anzen Chitai has been written by Matsui. is a song recorded by Japanese singer Shizuka Kudo, from her debut solo studio album ''Mysterious''. It was released through Canyon Records as the lead single from ''Mysterious'' on August 31, 1987. The Oricon Singles Chart is the Japanese music industry-standard singles popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Chart rankings are based on physical singles' sales. Until 2017, Oricon did not track download sales. In Japan, physical sales decreased sharply in the 2000s, while download sales hit three to four times the amount of single sales. In November 2017, Oricon introduced its first digital songs chart, separate from its main physical singles chart. In November 2018, Oricon launched a streaming chart, and introduced a combined singles chart that utilizes physical single sales, downloads, and streams.
