Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) is a railway operator in Taiwan. EMU500 Series
The EMU500 series is a series of electric multiple unit passenger trains operated by Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA). The trains are built as local trains and are used throughout the country's rail network. History In the 1990s, the TRA was facing an aging fleet of local trains, all of which did not feature air conditioning. Therefore, in 1993, the company entered a contract with South Korean manufacturer Daewoo to build 344 cars, which would be arranged into 86 trainsets. The first of these trains arrived in the summer of 1995, and the first passenger service began in 11 October of the same year. EMU900 Series
The EMU900 series is a series of electric multiple unit passenger trains owned by Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA). Manufactured in South Korea by Hyundai Rotem, the trains are used on Local and Fast Local services, which stop at most stations. They entered service on 6 April 2021. History The EMU900 series were purchased by the TRA as part of an effort to replace its aging rolling stock, specifically the ''Chu-Kuang'' and ''Fu-Hsing'' services, and to increase the carrying capacity of the system. In 2017, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications approved an approximately $100 billion NTD plan to replace 990 rail vehicles, or 39.15% of all vehicles, by 2024. Tze-chiang Limited Express
The Tze-Chiang Express, also spelled "Tzu-chiang" or "Ziqiang" () is a type of express train service operated by the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) in Taiwan. Of the five service classes operated by the TRA, the Tze-Chiang trains is the fastest category. Ticketing is done on the basis of mileage (NT$2.27 per km with a 10 km minimum fee). This service is operated with 7 different trainsets: the E1000 series, the EMU1200 (electric multiple unit), EMU300, TEMU1000 (''Taroko Express''), DR2800 (diesel multiple unit), DR3100, and the TEMU2000 (''Puyuma Express''). South-link Line
The South-link line () is a line of the Taiwan Railways Administration running across the southern tip of the island of Taiwan, connecting the eastern and western coasts. It is 98.2 km long, of which 81.4 km is single-track. The section between Nanzhou and Linbian railway stations was upgraded from a single-track railway to a dual-track railway while the other sections remains in single-track. In conjunction with electrification works on the line, train platforms are being lengthened and upgraded with better facilities.
