Fterrë
Fterrë ( sq-definite, Fterra) is a village in the former commune of Lukovë, Vlorë County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Himarë. It is located in a side valley of the Albanian Riviera, within the region of Kurvelesh (region), Kurvelesh and 10 km northeast of Borsh. Lukovë
Lukovë is a village and a former municipality in the Vlorë County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Himarë. Muzafer Korkuti
Muzafer Korkuti (born 1936) is an Albanian archaeologist and prehistorian. He is considered an expert on the prehistoric period of Albania. Korkuti was the director of the Institute of Archeology at the Centre for Albanological Studies in Tirana from 1998 to 2005 and currently serves as President of the Academy of Sciences of Albania. He is also a corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute. Life Born in Fterrë, Sarandë District, southern Albania, Korkuti studied history at the University of Tirana in 1957-62 and specialized on archaeology in China. In 1966 he took part in the excavations of Maliq in Korçë County. Nafiz Bezhani
Nafiz Bezhani (1928–2004) was an Albanians, Albanian jurist, politician and writer. Life Born in 1928 in Fterrë, southern Albania, and was educated at the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana. In 1943 he joined the National Liberation Movement (Albania), National Liberation Movement and was elected a delegate of the First Council of the Anti-fascist Youth in August 1944. After the 1956 conference of the Party of Labour of Albania he was expelled from the party. In 1992 he became a member of the Court of Cassation (Albania), Court of Cassation and in 1997 head of the Verification Committee of the Parliament of Albania, which was responsible for finding out possible agents of the Sigurimi that held political and judicial offices in post-Communist Albania. Himarë
Himarë ( sq-definite, Himara; el, Χειμάρρα, ''Cheimarra'' or Χιμάρα, ''Chimara'') is a municipality and region in Vlorë County, southern Albania. The municipality has a total area of and consists of the administrative units of Himarë, Horë-Vranisht and Lukovë. It lies between the Ceraunian Mountains and the Albanian Ionian Sea Coast and is part of the Albanian Riviera. The traditionally perceived borders of the Himarë region gradually shrank during the Ottoman period, being reduced to the town of Himarë and the villages of the coastline (Bregdet in Albanian), generally including only Palase, Dhermi, Pilur, Kudhes, Vuno, Ilias and Qeparo. Jakup Mato
Prof.Dr.Jakup Halil Mato (16 September 1934 in Fterra, Albania – 30 August 2005 in Tirana, Albania) was an Albanians, Albanian publicist and educational administrator. He started publishing his articles and research studies in the field of literature and arts since the beginning of the 1960s. In the 1990s he served as head of Centre of Art Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Albania. Biography After attending the former French Lyceum in Gjirokastra, Mato was a teacher and principal in the southern Albanian village of Kuç near Vlora. In 1959 he graduated from the University of Tirana. Until the 1970s, he worked first at the Pedagogical Institute and then as a head of department head in the Ministry of Culture and Education. National Liberation Movement (Albania)
The National Liberation Movement ( sq, Lëvizja Nacional-Çlirimtare; or ''Lëvizja Antifashiste Nacional-Çlirimtare'' (LANÇ)), also translated as National Liberation Front, was an Albanian communist resistance organization that fought in World War II.
