Frédéric Bonnaud
Frédéric Bonnaud, born June 27, 1967, is the head of the Cinémathèque française and a French journalist. He was the head of Les Inrockuptibles from 2013 to 2015. Biography After starting his career as a cinema programmer in Paris, he became a cinema critic at Les Inrockuptibles. In 2006, he was offered to create a radio show on the French public radio France Inter. Quickly gaining public and critical praise, the show was nonetheless removed from antennas a year later, triggering an intense polemic and a strike of the journalists of Radio France. In August 2009, he joined Guillaume Durand on France 2 to participate in his program the subject of the scandal. He also holds on Europe 1 a daily chronicle dedicated to television. Cinémathèque Française
The Cinémathèque Française (), founded in 1936, is a French non-profit film organization that holds one of the largest archives of film documents and film-related objects in the world. Based in Paris's 12th arrondissement, the archive offers daily screenings of worldwide films. History The collection emerged from the efforts of Henri Langlois and Lotte H. Eisner in the mid 1930s to collect and screen films. Langlois had acquired one of the largest collections in the world by the beginning of World War II, only to have it nearly wiped out by the German authorities in occupied France, who ordered the destruction of all films made prior to 1937. He and his friends smuggled huge numbers of documents and films out of occupied France to protect them until the end of the war. After the war, the French government provided a small screening room, staff and subsidy for the collection, which was relocated to the Avenue de Messine. ''Les Inrockuptibles'' () is a French cultural magazine. Started as a monthly magazine in 1986, it became weekly in 1995. Now it is a monthly again, since 2021. In the beginning, rock music was the magazine's primary focus, though every issue included articles on other topics, generally with a left-wing approach. France Inter () is a major French public radio channel and part of Radio France. It is a "generalist" station, aiming to provide a wide national audience with a full service of news and spoken-word programming, both serious and entertaining, liberally punctuated with an eclectic mix of music. It is broadcast on FM from a nationwide network of transmitters, as well as via the internet. The channel announced during 2016 that it would discontinue transmissions from the Allouis longwave transmitter on 162 kHz with effect from 1 January 2017, thereby saving approximately €6 million per year. Robert Bonnaud
Robert Bonnaud (13 November 1929 – 22 January 2013) was a French anti-colonialist historian and professor of history at the Paris Diderot University. In 1957, following the advice of his friend Pierre Vidal-Naquet, he published in '' Esprit'' an article entitled ''La Paix des Nementchas'' (''Nementchas’ Peace''), where he denounced massacres he witnessed made by the French army in Algeria, on the 25th and 26 October 1956. In June 1961, he was arrested and jailed in Marseilles' Baumettes prison as a supporter of the Algerian nationalists of the FLN; Hargreaves calls him "the leader of the Jeanson network in the Marseilles region". In June 1962, two months after the Evian agreements and the proclamation of Algeria's independence, Bonnaud was released but suspended from all teaching duties.
