''Front and Center'' is an American television series that aired on public television in 2012, presented by PBS member station WLIW. The series was originally called ''Front Row Center'' and was developed by the producers of ''Soundstage''. The show features Grammy Award winners, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees, chart topping artists, and emerging artists. ''Front and Center'' profiles some of the music world's better known artists and combines behind the scenes interviews with intimate performances. CMA Songwriter Series In 2014, ''Front and Center'' joined with the Country Music Association (CMA) to present two separate hour-long concert specials, featuring Nashville country artists. The first episode featured Lady Antebellum and the second was a 10th Anniversary CMA Songwriters Series celebration and featured Dierks Bentley, joined by songwriters Jim Beavers, Ross Copperman, Brett James and Jon Randall. WLIW (channel 21) is a secondary PBS member television station licensed to Garden City, New York, United States, and serving the New York City television market. It is owned by The WNET Group (formerly known as the Educational Broadcasting Corporation and later as WNET.org) alongside the area's primary PBS member, Newark, New Jersey–licensed WNET (channel 13), and two Class A stations which share spectrum with WNET: WNDT-CD (channel 14) and WMBQ-CD (channel 46). JJ Grey & Mofro (formerly Mofro) is an American Southern soul-Southern rock, rock band from Jacksonville, Florida. History Early career The early days of Mofro can be traced back to the mid-nineties when John Higginbotham aka "JJ Grey" and Daryl Hance signed with a United Kingdom label and played shows in Europe as Mofro Magic. Grey and Hance met in their hometown of Jacksonville, Florida while working for an air conditioning company and developed a friendship through music. Their first band together was a rock band called Faith Nation followed by a funk band called Alma Zuma. The deal with the record label in London fell through, and Grey and Hance returned to their native Jacksonville and formed Mofro, then signed with Fog City Records in 2001. Peter Edward "Ginger" Baker (19 August 1939 – 6 October 2019) was an English drummer. His work in the 1960s and 1970s earned him the reputation of "rock's first superstar drummer", for a style that melded jazz and Music of Africa, African rhythms and pioneered both jazz fusion and world music. Baker gained early fame as a member of Blues Incorporated and the Graham Bond Organisation, both times alongside bassist Jack Bruce, with whom Baker would often clash. The Late Show Band is a band originally founded and led by American musician Jon Batiste as Stay Human. They became the house band for Stephen Colbert's late-night talk show ''The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'' on September 8, 2015. The Rides
The Rides are an American blues supergroup, featuring guitarists Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and keyboardist Barry Goldberg. The group formed in 2013 following a performance by the trio at a benefit led by Stills. Stills called the band “the blues band of my dreams”. Zachary Phillip Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt; January 14, 1967) is an American musician. He is best known as the lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and as the founder, lead guitarist, lead singer, songwriter and producer of the heavy metal band Black Label Society.
