From There to Here – a soundtrack album by British rock band I Am Kloot, written for the drama television series From There to Here, under the same title. The record was released on 24 November 2014 through Kudos Records/Caroline Records. The material consists of 16 new instrumental music, instrumental tracks and three songs known from the previous discography of the band. For the first time I Am Kloot members worked as individuals on the same project, corresponding via emails. The bassist, Peter Jobson, has described this process as a „refreshing” experience after „fifteen years of recording all together in one room”. It was the second time when the screenwriter Peter Bowker decided to use music by I Am Kloot. I Am Kloot
I Am Kloot were an English rock band, formed in Manchester in 1999. The band was composed of vocalist/guitarist John Bramwell, bassist Peter Jobson and drummer Andy Hargreaves. The band released six studio albums, and was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2010 for the album '' Sky at Night''. The band split up in 2016, with Bramwell concentrating on a solo career. The origin of the band name was shrouded in secrecy for the majority of the band's existence, with Bramwell stating in 2013 that the band "never said and we never will" confirm the origin of the name and joked that "If I told you, I'd have to kill you". Jobson later claimed that the name I Am Kloot was inspired by the Alan J. Pakula film ''Klute'', and also that "I Am Kloot is a left handed card game made famous in the diaries of Jerome K. Peter Bowker
Peter Bowker (born 5 January 1959) is a British playwright and screenwriter. He is best known for the television serials ''Blackpool'' (2004), a musical drama about a shady casino owner; ''Occupation'' (2009), which follows three military servicemen adjusting to civilian life after a tour of duty in Iraq; and ''Desperate Romantics'' (2009), a biographical drama about the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. In 2007, he adapted ''Blackpool'' for CBS as ''Viva Laughlin''. His most recent work was the BBC World War II drama series '' World on Fire''. Biography Born and raised in Hazel Grove, Stockport, Bowker was educated at Marple Hall School and read philosophy and English at the University of Leeds. I, or i, is the ninth letter and the third vowel letter of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. ''Sky at Night'' is the fifth studio album by English people, English rock band I Am Kloot. The album was produced by Guy Garvey and Craig Potter (musician), Craig Potter of the band Elbow (band), Elbow and was released on 5 July 2010. Since 2 July 2010, the whole album has been streamed for free on the guardian.co.uk website. On 20 July 2010, the album made the shortlist for the 2010 Mercury Music Prize. On 15 November 2010, it was announced that ''Sky at Night'' has received the German Record Critics' Award (Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik) in the "Pop and Rock" category. ''I Am Kloot'' is the self-titled second album by English rock band I Am Kloot. Released in 2003, the album reached #68 on the UK Albums Chart and yielded four singles and one download-only single. The download-only single "Proof" had a music video created for it by Krishna Stott, featuring actor Christopher Eccleston, which never received its intended, full release. A demo of "Proof" originally appeared as a B-side to " Morning Rain" in 2001. The album contains an extra song, hidden in the pregap, called "Deep Blue Sea," also released as a B-side on the "Life in a Day" single. The singles " Life in a Day" and " 3 Feet Tall" charted on the UK Singles Chart at #43 and #46 respectively. A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. At first, the discs were commonly made from shellac, with earlier records having a fine abrasive filler mixed in. Starting in the 1940s polyvinyl chloride became common, hence the name vinyl. The phonograph record was the primary medium used for music reproduction throughout the 20th century. It had co-existed with the phonograph cylinder from the late 1880s and had effectively superseded it by around 1912. ''The A Word'' is a BBC television drama series, based on the Israeli series ''Yellow Peppers''. The series follows a young boy and how his family cope with the revelation that he has autism spectrum disorder. ''Monroe'' is a British medical drama television series created and written by Peter Bowker and produced by Mammoth Screen for the ITV network. The series follows a neurosurgeon named Gabriel Monroe, played by James Nesbitt. The six-part series was commissioned by ITV as one of a number of replacements for its long-running police drama series ''The Bill'', which was cancelled in 2010.
