Friendship Collegiate Academy Public Charter School is a public high school in Washington, D.C. Established in 2000, the school serves students in grades 9-12 and is part of the Friendship Public Charter School network. History Friendship Collegiate Academy opened on September 5, 2000. Campus Collegiate Academy is located in the former Carter G. Woodson Junior High School, across Minnesota Avenue from the Minnesota Avenue Washington Metro station. Curriculum Collegiate Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum including honors and Advanced Placement courses. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. It is a type of gazetteer. It was developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the United States Board on Geographic Names (BGN) to promote the standardization of feature names.
