Friendship (2008 Film)
''Friendship'' ( th, เฟรนด์ชิพ เธอกับฉัน) (also known as Friendship You and Me) is a 2008 Thai romantic drama film directed by Chatchai Naksuriya, starring Mario Maurer and Apinya Sakuljaroensuk (known for ''Ploy'') . The film, set in 1972 and 1987 , explores Singha and Mituna's love for each other; it opens in the present, before returning to their high-school days. Plot Singha (Mario Maurer) receives a call from Jack, a high-school friend who sets up a reunion for their class. When they meet, they have a conversation which turns to Singha's last year of high school (when he met his first and only love, Mituna (Apinya Sakuljaroensuk). At first, Singha and his friends mock Mituna for being quiet. He becomes friends with Lam, who helps him survive Kong (who tries to kill him) and becomes close to Singha's group. Mario Maurer
is a character created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. He is the title character of the ''Mario'' franchise and the mascot of Japanese video game company Nintendo. Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. ''Ploy'' ( th, พลอย) is a 2007 Thai film written and directed by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang. The film premiered during the Directors' Fortnight at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. The drama film stars Thai actress Lalita Panyopas in a story of a middle-aged married couple who question their relationship after seven years. Ananda Everingham is featured in a supporting role as a bartender. The film contained sex scenes that were shown at Cannes, but due to censorship concerns had to be re-edited by the director so the film could be shown in cinemas in Thailand when it opened there on June 7, 2007.
