"Friends of Peter G." is the tenth episode of the Family Guy (season 9), ninth season of the animated cartoon, animated television comedy, comedy series ''Family Guy''. It aired on Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox in the United States on February 13, 2011. The episode follows Peter Griffin, Peter and Brian Griffin, Brian as they are forced to join Alcoholics Anonymous, due to their excessive drinking, much to their chagrin. Soon, however, Peter crashes his car while driving home drunk, and is approached by List of characters in Family Guy#Death, Death, who shows him what his life will be like if he continues to drink alcohol, as well if he had never drank at all. Death persuades Peter that he has the willpower to put the bottle down sometimes. The episode was written by Brian Scully and directed by John Holmquist. ''Family Guy'' is an American animated sitcom originally conceived and created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The show centers around the Griffins, a dysfunctional family consisting of parents Peter and Lois; their children, Meg, Chris, and Stewie; and their anthropomorphic pet dog, Brian. Set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, the show exhibits much of its humor in the form of metafictional cutaway gags that often lampoon American culture. The family was conceived by MacFarlane after developing two animated films, ''The Life of Larry'' and ''Larry & Steve''. MacFarlane redesigned the films' protagonist, Larry, and his dog, Steve, and renamed them Peter and Brian, respectively. MacFarlane pitched a seven-minute pilot to Fox in December 1998, and the show was greenlit and began production.
