Fresno Air Attack Base
The Fresno Air Attack Base was established in 1955 By the US Forest Service, Sierra National Forest and is located at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport. The US Forest Service leases office space to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection's (CAL FIRE) Fresno/Kings Unit. In 1994, it was completely rebuilt to become a model modern AirTanker Base which includes a modern interagency communication/command center. The Grumman S-2 Tracker (S2F prior to 1962) was the first purpose-built, single airframe anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft to enter service with the United States Navy. Huntington Lake
Huntington Lake is a reservoir in Fresno County, California on Big Creek, located in the Sierra Nevada at an elevation of 7000 ft. The lake receives water from Southern California Edison's Big Creek Hydroelectric Project, as well as the many streams that flow into the lake. Some water leaving the lake flows to Big Creek, while some is diverted to nearby Shaver Lake. The lake is home to a variety of recreational activities, including camping, horse-back riding, skiing, sailing, fishing and more. Shaver Lake (formerly, Musick Creek and Musick Creek Heights) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fresno County, California, United States. The population was 634 at the 2010 census, down from 705 at the 2000 census. Shaver Lake is on the southwest end of the lake of the same name, east of New Auberry, at an elevation of .
