Fresno is a census-designated place in eastern White Eyes Township, Coshocton County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 census it had a population of 140. It has a post office with the ZIP code 43824. It lies along State Route 93 between West Lafayette and Baltic. History Fresno was originally called Jacktown. The residents apparently didn't like the name Jacktown, and the community was renamed Avondale by popular vote. A post office was established under the name Avondale in 1875, and the name of the post office was changed to Fresno in 1905. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. Ridgewood High School is a public high school in West Lafayette, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Ridgewood Local School District. Baltic, Ohio
Baltic is a village in Coshocton, Holmes, and Tuscarawas counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 795 at the 2010 census. The Raber's Almanac for the Amish community is published here. Baltic is also home to the garage door opener factory of The Genie Company, one of the few companies to manufacture them in the USA. West Lafayette, Ohio
West Lafayette is a village in Coshocton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,321 at the 2010 census. History West Lafayette was laid out in 1850 by Robert Shaw and William Wheeler. In 1855, the Steubenville and Indiana Railroad was built through the new town. The line became known as the Panhandle Route and was operated in the Pennsylvania Railroad system and currently by the Columbus and Ohio River Railroad (Ohio Central Railroad System). Tragedy struck this track on September 11, 1950 when the crack passenger train "Spirit of St. Louis" hit another train carrying 600 men of the 109th Field Artillery Battalion of the Pennsylvania National Guard. 33 men were killed. A memorial was placed near the site of the accident in 1990. A 105mm howitzer is at the memorial also, commemorating the manufacture of 105mm shells at Moore Enamelling across the tracks during WWII. State Route 93 (SR 93) is a north–south highway that stretches from Ironton on the Oakley C. Collins Memorial Bridge to State Route 261 in Akron. At a length of , it is the third longest state route in Ohio. The route from Ironton to West Lafayette was once signed as State Route 75. In 1962, to eliminate confusion with an interstate in Ohio having the same number, State Route 75 was replaced by State Route 93 which had previously terminated in West Lafayette.
