Frenchtown High School
Frenchtown High School is located in Frenchtown, Missoula County, Montana, United States. Academic Team Frenchtown High School's academic team has performed well at regional and statewide levels, placing first out of 16 teams at Brainfreeze in the 2010 and 2011 season. In the 2012 season, Frenchtown took 1st out of 51 teams at the Southwest Montana Academic Olympics and 1st at the Yellowstone County Invitational Academic Tournament. In 2009, the team won the Frenchtown-Stevensville Invitational Academic Tournament and were able to travel to Chicago for the HSNCT. In the 2010 season, Frenchtown hosted a tournament titled Brainfreeze. Frenchtown's #1 team triumphed over teams such as Billings Skyview and Missoula Sentinel to capture first place and qualify for the PACE National Scholastics Championship in Fairfax, Virginia. Frenchtown was a historical Pacific Northwest settlement established by Métis and French Canadian fur traders. It was located in Walla Walla County, Washington, United States. Originally called "le village des Canadiens", it became known as "Frenchtown" by later settlers similar to other settlements such as Frenchtown, Montana. It has also been referred to as "Walla Walla Frenchtown", This Pacific Northwest historical place has become legally recognized through a registered historical foundation. Tomahawk, Wisconsin
Tomahawk is a city in Lincoln County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,346 at the 2010 census. The city is located to the northeast of the Town of Tomahawk and is not contiguous with it. History Before 1837, the land where Tomahawk is now situated belonged to the Ojibwe, who traded actively with fur traders such as the American Fur Company and the Northwest Company. After the 1837 cession, the practical situation changed only slightly: the federal survey teams had not arrived yet, logging activity was still light, and Ojibwe continued to actively occupy the general area. There was a village just north of the modern Tomahawk, in the vicinity of modern Bradley, and a village on Skanawan Creek.
