French National Time Trial Championships
The French National Time Trial Championship is a road bicycle race that takes place inside the French National Cycling Championship, and decides the best cyclist in this type of race. The first edition took place in 1995. The first winner of the time trial championship was Thierry Marie. Jeannie Longo holds the record for the most wins with 11, and Sylvain Chavanel holds the record in the men's championship with 6. Bruno Armirail and Audrey Cordon-Ragot are the current champions. Edwige Pitel (born 4 June 1967) is a French racing cyclist, who most recently rode for UCI Women's Continental Team . Pitel was the winner of the 2003 ITU Duathlon World Championships. Pascal Lance (born 23 January 1964) is a retired French cyclist. He competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in the 100 km team time trial and finished in fourth place. Didier Rous
Didier Rous (born 18 September 1970 in Montauban, France) is a French former professional road bicycle racer. He competed in the men's individual road race at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Biography He started his professional career with Gan in 1993 before leaving for Festina in 1997, the year in which he won a stage of the Tour de France. In 1998 the Tour and in particular the Festina team were struck by a doping scandal which led to revelations that the team had organised a doping fund under the managemt of Bruno Roussel, the directeur sportif, and the team's doctor, Erik Rykaert. Rous said he had taken the blood enhancer, EPO. In 2000 he joined a new team, Bonjour, sponsored by a newspaper chain and managed by the former rider Jean-René Bernaudeau. Nicolas Portal
Nicolas Portal (23 April 1979 – 3 March 2020) was a French directeur sportif and professional road bicycle racer. He was born in Auch, France. He missed much of the 2009 season because of problems with cardiac arrhythmia and retired as a professional cyclist following the 2010 season. He stayed with his final professional team, Team Sky, as a manager from the 2011 season. Following the retirement of Sean Yates, Portal was appointed lead ''directeur sportif'' of Team Sky for 2013. He died of a heart attack on 3 March 2020, aged 40. Professional career Portal was born on 23 April 1979 in Auch, France. His father was a quarry manager and his mother worked as a medical secretary. Florent Brard (born 7 February 1976, in Chambray-lès-Tours, France) is a retired French road bicycle racer. He won three national championships, including the professional road race. He became a professional in 1999 and stopped racing in November 2009 after not finding a place in a team. Childhood Florent Brard was born into a cycling family. His father bought two copies of cycling magazines, one to read and the other to save, untouched.
