''French Connection'' is a French-language greatest hits album by Belgian singer Kate Ryan released under ARS Entertainment. The album was released in Canada on October 13, 2009, before being released in Ryan's native country of Belgium on October 23, 2009. The album's lead single, " Babacar", was released June 12, 2009 in Belgium. This compilation includes all of her French greatest hits, as well as covers (both previously released and unreleased), French singles, French versions of some of her English-language songs, and some new versions of her first hits. Kate Ryan
Kate Ryan (born Katrien Verbeeck, 22 July 1980) is a Belgian singer and songwriter, and the winner of a World Music Award. She began her singing career in 2001 and later found fame with a string of dance hits. These included covers, mostly of Mylène Farmer and France Gall, such as "Désenchantée", "Libertine", and "Ella, elle l'a", and Desireless' "Voyage Voyage", as well as new material. Ryan represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with "Je t'adore" coming in 12th place in the semi-final. Jeanne Mas is a French pop singer. She is well known in France, Switzerland, Canada and Belgium for a number of hit singles released in the 1980s. Her first success was "Toute première fois" in 1984. Jo Lemaire (born 5 January 1956) is a Belgian singer and songwriter born in Gembloux, Namur. Beyond her native country, she is also popular in France, Switzerland, Canada, and the Netherlands. Career Jo Lemaire debuted musically in the late 1970s with her musical group, "Jo Lemaire + Flouze". The group saw true success with the release of their album '' Pigmy World'' in 1981. Peter Kingsbery
Peter Kingsbery is an American singer-songwriter who co-founded the band Cock Robin in the 1980s. He grew up in Austin (Texas) where he studied classical music. He moved to Nashville (Tennessee) where he began his career as a musician (he accompanied Brenda Lee on piano on a few tours) and then to Los Angeles at the end of the '70s where he began a career as a singer-songwriter. "The Promise You Made" is a song by Cock Robin. Written by Peter Kingsbery, the song was recorded in 1984 for the group's self-titled debut album. It was released as a single in the USA in November 1985, and in early 1986 in Europe where it became a big hit.
