Freightliner M2
The Freightliner Business Class M2 is a model range of medium-duty truck, medium-duty trucks produced by Freightliner Trucks, Freightliner. In production since June 2002, the M2 is the successor to the Freightliner Business Class (FL-Series), FL-Series introduced in the 1990s. In terms of size, the M2 is produced in Truck classification, Class 5 through Class 8 GVWR ratings, competing primarily against the International DuraStar and the Ford F-650, Ford F-650/F-750 Super Duty. Freightliner produces the Business Class M2 model range in Mount Holly, North Carolina and Santiago Tianguistenco, Mexico. The original generation was produced from model years 2003-2022. The second generation, marketed as M2 Plus, entered production during 2022 as a 2023 model. It features a new and updated interior and a facelift grille. The International Extreme Truck Series (often identified by the acronym XT) is a range of pickup trucks produced by Navistar International from 2004 to 2008. The first vehicle marketed by International to consumers since the discontinuation of the Scout in 1980, the XT trucks marked the return of International to pickup truck production since the discontinuation of the 100-series pickups in 1975. The Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 (often shortened to Thomas C2) is a cowled-chassis school bus manufactured by bus body manufacturer Thomas Built Buses. Introduced in 2004, the C2 marked the first usage of the Freightliner C2 chassis. While produced largely for school use, the C2 is also produced for multiple applications, including specialty and commercial configurations. The C2 is unique in that it is available in capacities up to 81 passengers, the largest of any type C conventional school bus in current production. It is also the only school bus in North America with the option of a manual transmission. Cutaway Van Chassis
Cutaway van chassis are used by second stage manufacturers for a wide range of completed motor vehicles. Especially popular in the United States, they are usually based upon incomplete vans to be bigger or smaller than pickup trucks and SUVs made by manufacturers such as Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors which are generally equipped with heavier duty components than most of their complete products. To these incomplete vehicles, a second stage manufacturer adds specific equipment and completes the vehicle. Common applications of this type of vehicle design and manufacturing includes small trucks, school buses, recreational vehicles, minibuses, and ambulances.
