Freestyle Skiing At The 2018 Winter Olympics – Men's Moguls
The men's moguls event in freestyle skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympics took place from 9 to 12 February 2018 at the Bogwang Phoenix Park, Pyeongchang, South Korea. In the victory ceremony, the medals were presented by Tricia Smith, member of the International Olympic Committee, accompanied by Dean Gosper, FIS council member. Qualification The top 30 athletes in the Olympic quota allocation list qualified, with a maximum of four athletes per National Olympic Committee (NOC) allowed. All athletes qualifying must also have placed in the top 30 of a FIS World Cup event or the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2017 during the qualification period (July 1, 2016 to January 21, 2018) and also have a minimum of 80 FIS points to compete. If the host country, South Korea at the 2018 Winter Olympics South Korea competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, from 9 to 25 February 2018, as the host nation. It is located in the township of Bongpyeong-myeon, in the county of Pyeongchang. It was the venue for the Freestyle skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympics, freestyle skiing and Snowboarding at the 2018 Winter Olympics, snowboarding events in the 2018 Winter Olympics and the 2018 Winter Paralympics. The capacity of the venue is 18,000 (10,200 seated and 7,800 standing). It is one of the locations where the television drama ''Autumn in My Heart'' was shot. Alexandr Aleksandrovich Smyshlyaev (russian: Александр Александрович Смышляев, born 16 March 1987) is a Russian freestyle skier who specializes in the moguls discipline. Career Smyshlyaev competed at the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018 Winter Olympics. At the 2010 Olympics in Sochi, he won a bronze medal in the men's moguls event. Rohan Chapman-Davies
Rohan Chapman-Davies (born 4 September 1991) is an Australian freestyle skier. He competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Chapman-Davies scored a 73.96 in his first qualification run at the Olympic Games at PyeongChang in 2018. Chapman-Davies scored a 67.94 in his second qualification run at the Olympic Games at PyeongChang. He finished his debut Olympic Games in 22nd place. Skiing career In 2008, Chapman-Davies attending his first international meet, representing Australia in the North American Cup event held in Canada. He placed 42nd in the meet. He didn't try for that meet until 2015. This time, Chapman-Davies finishing 3rd, becoming the first Australian male to podium in the grand prix standings. In 2014, Chapman-Davies won two silver medals and one bronze in both Australian and New Zealand Cup series.
