Freestyle skiing at the Winter Olympics, Freestyle skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympics was held at the Phoenix Pyeongchang, Bokwang Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang County, Pyeongchang, South Korea. The events were scheduled to take place between 9 and 23 February 2018. A total of ten freestyle skiing events were held. Qualification A maximum of 282 quota spots were available to athletes at the games. A maximum of 30 athletes could be entered by a National Olympic Committee, with a maximum of 16 men or 16 women. David Wise (freestyle Skier)
David Wise (born June 30, 1990) is an American freestyle skier. He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist (2014, 2018) and a four-time X Games Gold Medalist (2012, 2013, 2014, 2018). In 2014, Wise won his third consecutive gold medal at Winter X Games XVIII in Aspen, Colorado, before heading to Sochi for the 2014 Winter Olympics. There, he became the first Olympic gold medalist in the Men's Freeski Halfpipe, which debuted in the Winter Games that year. Ilya Alekseyevich Burov (russian: Илья Алексеевич Буров; born 13 November 1991), also spelled Ilia Burov, is a Russian freestyle skier, specializing in aerials. Career Burov competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for Russia. He placed 10th in the first qualifying round in the aerials, failing to advance. He subsequently placed 10th in the second qualification round, again failing to advance. Burov completed at the 2018 Winter Olympics representing Olympic Athletes from Russia.
