Freeman Brothers
The Freeman Brothers were a Motown duo active 1964–1970, Johnny Mitchell, one of doo wop group The Majestics lead singers, and orchestra leader Gerald Williams. The duo left Motown after their single "My Baby" (1965) failed to achieve commercial success and continued until the single "Sally Goes Up The Ladder" on Sprout in 1970. Shawne Jackson is a singer, songwriter from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She had a Canadian Top 10 hit in 1974 with "Just As Bad As You". During her career she has provided the voice for Teacher Harriet in '' Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood'', contributed backing vocals on "I'm A W.O.M.A.N." for Lydia Taylor, backing vocals on '' For Those Who Think Young'' by Rough Trade, backing vocals on the ''Alice Cooper Goes to Hell'' album by Alice Cooper, backing vocals on '' Fret Fever'' by Domenic Troiano. She was also nominee for the 1976 Juno Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Background She is the great granddaughter of Albert Jackson, Canada's first Black letter carrier. During the late 1960s, Shawne and her brother Jay Jackson were the lead singers in a popular Canadian r&b group The Majestics. Joey Dee And The Starliters
Joey Dee and the Starliters (also credited as Joey Dee and the Starlighters) is an American popular music group. The group is best known for their million-selling recording "Peppermint Twist" (1961). The group's most notable lineup is considered to be Joey Dee, David Brigati, Larry Vernieri (vocals), Carlton Lattimore (organ), Sam Taylor (guitar) and Willie Davis (drums). Jimi Hendrix and Joe Pesci played guitar with the group at different times in the 1960s. Early singles With lead singer Rogers Freeman, Joey Dee and the Starliters' first single was "Lorraine," backed with "The Girl I Walk To School," in 1958, distributed by the company Little. That same year, Joey Dee recruited David Brigati for the team after meeting him during a gig at Garfield High School in New Jersey.
