Freelove
"Freelove" is a song by English electronic group Depeche Mode. It was released on 5 November 2001 as the third single from their album '' Exciter''. The B-side is an instrumental called "Zenstation". There is also a DVD release of "Freelove", a first for Depeche Mode. It contained video footage of "Freelove" from the Philadelphia concert in 2001, as well as audio of some of the other songs. It also contained four bonus 30-second videos of the band. The videos were directed by Anton Corbijn. Music video The music video for "Freelove" was directed by John Hillcoat and filmed in New Orleans, Louisiana in July 2001 while the group was on tour in the United States. The video features Depeche Mode performing on a parade float riding through a poor neighborhood. The impoverished residents follow the float and climb on it to dance. ''Exciter'' is the tenth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode. It was first released on 14 May 2001 in the United Kingdom by Mute Records and a day later in the United States by Reprise Records. The album was produced by Mark Bell, and was supported by the Exciter Tour, one of the band's most successful tours. ''Exciter'' debuted at number nine on the UK Albums Chart and number eight on the ''Billboard'' 200, selling 115,000 copies in its first week in the United States. It was the only Depeche Mode album to debut higher in the United States than in the United Kingdom. Depeche Mode
Depeche Mode are an English electronic music band formed in Basildon, Essex, in 1980. The band currently consists of Dave Gahan (lead vocals and co-songwriting) and Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, co-lead vocals and main songwriting). Depeche Mode, originally formed by the lineup of Gahan, Gore, Andy Fletcher (musician), Andy Fletcher and Vince Clarke, released their debut album ''Speak & Spell (album), Speak & Spell'' in 1981, bringing the band onto the British New wave music, new wave scene. John Hillcoat
John Hillcoat (born 1960) is an Australian-Canadian film director, screenwriter, and music video director. Early life Hillcoat was born in Queensland, Australia, and was raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. As a child, his paintings were featured in the Art Gallery of Hamilton. He attended Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary School in Hamilton, Ontario, and was enrolled in the Special Art Program. He was active with the McMaster University Film Board most notably producing an animated short titled "The Finger". Career Hillcoat has often worked with Nick Cave, the band Depeche Mode, and actor Guy Pearce. ''The Road'', his adaptation of the novel by Cormac McCarthy, premiered at the 2009 Toronto Film Festival, and was released in the U.S. in November 2009. His 2012 film, '' Lawless'', competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Hillcoat's film, '' Triple 9'' was released in 2016. Goodnight Lovers
"Goodnight Lovers" is Depeche Mode's thirty-ninth UK single, released on 11 February 2002. It is the fourth and final single for the album '' Exciter,'' the single was not released in the US. The single did not qualify for the UK Singles Chart because it contained three songs in addition to the single itself, one more than UK singles rules allow. It did however qualify for the Budget Albums Chart and went straight to Number One before falling rapidly, the first Depeche Mode single to reach Number One in an official UK chart. The B-sides are remixes of "When the Body Speaks", "The Dead of Night", and "Goodnight Lovers". Background Martin Gore said that wanted to "recreate a Velvet Underground kind of feel. "I Feel Loved" is a song by English electronic group Depeche Mode. It was released on 30 July 2001 as the second single from the album '' Exciter''. In 2002 The song was nominated for two Grammy Awards. One for Best Dance Recording and the Danny Tenaglia Remix for Best Remixed Recording, but lost out to Janet Jackson's " All for You" and to Deep Dish's remix of Dido's "Thank You". Music video There are four versions, one that uses the "Single Version", but with a cold ending, rather than the fading out ending. There are remix videos by Dan-O-Rama, a long version, and a short version. The two remix versions are composed of modified production shots of the original video. Mark Ellis (born 16 August 1960), known by his professional pseudonym Flood, is a British rock and synthpop record producer and audio engineer. ''Video Singles Collection'' is a 2016 three-DVD music video compilation by Depeche Mode, containing all the videos released for singles by the band between 1981 and 2013. Video Singles Collection is the first official Depeche Mode archival title to be released under the Sony imprimatur since SME acquired rights to the DM catalog in July 2015. Deep Dish is an American electronic music duo, consisting of Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi. Biography Based in Washington, D.C., it is well known for providing house or dance remixes of tracks of famous artists such as Madonna, Janet Jackson, Cher, Stevie Nicks and Gabrielle, and for its live DJ sets. Uwe H. Schmidt (born 27 August 1968), also known as Atom™, Atom Heart, or Señor Coconut, is a German composer, musician and producer of electronic music.
