Freeloaders (band)
The Freeloaders were an English house music duo formed in 2004 by Kevin O'Toole and Dale Longworth, the founder members of N-Trance. Under this alias they released a UK Top 10 single, "So Much Love to Give", which sampled The Real Thing; and an album ''Freshly Squeezed''. Other musicians involved with the Freeloaders were Jerome Stokes and Vinny Burns. N-Trance () are a British electronic music group who were formed by Kevin O'Toole and Dale Longworth in 1991. The group is known for their European hit songs " Set You Free" and "Electronic Pleasure", and their covers of the 1970s disco songs "Stayin' Alive", "D.I.S.C.O.", " Shake Ya Body", and "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?". They had 14 charting singles in the UK during 1994–2004. History Early years (1990–93) Kevin O'Toole and Dale Longworth formed N-Trance in 1990, after meeting at Oldham College in Greater Manchester, where they were both studying sound engineering and they were signed by Pete Waterman's 380 Records (a sub-label of PWL). "So Much Love to Give" is a 2002 single released by French house duo Together, consisting of Thomas Bangalter and DJ Falcon. It experienced widespread success in 2005 when sampled by British duo Freeloaders. The 12-inch single was released without a B-side. The song contains a sample of "Love's Such a Wonderful Thing" by The Real Thing. Together used the caption repeatedly throughout the song rather than being a one-liner as in the case of the Real Thing song. In sound and music, sampling is the reuse of a portion (or sample) of a sound recording in another recording. Samples may comprise elements such as rhythm, melody, speech, sounds or entire bars of music, and may be layered, equalized, sped up or slowed down, repitched, looped, or otherwise manipulated. They are usually integrated using hardware ( samplers) or software such as digital audio workstations. A process similar to sampling originated in the 1940s with '' musique concrète'', experimental music created by splicing and looping tape. Vinny Burns (born 4 April 1965, Oldham, Lancashire) is an English hard rock guitarist and producer, best known for his work with the bands Dare (band), Dare, Ten (band), Ten and Bob Catley.
