Free European Song Contest 2021
The Free European Song Contest 2021 was the second edition of the Free European Song Contest, organised by the German television network ProSieben and the production company Raab TV. The show was broadcast on 15 May 2021 at 20:15 CEST on the television channel ProSieben and on the streaming platform Joyn. It was presented for the second consecutive time by Steven Gätjen and Conchita Wurst. The winning song was "The One" by Rea Garvey, representing Ireland. It marked Ireland's first victory in the event. For the second consecutive year, the Netherlands finished as runner-up, this year represented by Danny Vera with his 2019 hit "Rollercoaster." Debutant Belgium finished in third place with Milow and his song "ASAP." Although he finished with the same number of points as fellow debuting country Scotland, tiebreak rules put the Belgian entry ahead. Lanxess Arena
Lanxess Arena (originally Kölnarena, German for ''Cologne Arena'') is an indoor arena, in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is known as the 18,500-capacity home of the Kölner Haie. The arena opened in 1998 and can accommodate 20,000 people for concerts. With its capacity of 18,500, it is the largest ice hockey arena outside North America. It is primarily used by Kölner Haie (ice hockey), VfL Gummersbach (handball), Köln RheinStars (basketball), and as a concert venue. The arena is spanned by a steel arch supporting the roof via steel cables. The height of the arch is and its weight is 480 tons. Milow
Jonathan Ivo Gilles Vandenbroeck (; born 14 July 1981), known professionally as Milow, is a Belgian singer-songwriter. Milow released his debut album, ''The Bigger Picture'', in 2006 on his own label Homerun Records. The fourth single from that album, "You Don't Know," became one of the biggest hit singles of the year in Belgium in 2007, and ''The Bigger Picture'' stayed on the Belgian album chart for 110 weeks. Elif Demirezer
Elif Demirezer (born 12 December 1992 in Berlin) currently known by her stage name ELIF, is a German musician of Turkey, Turkish descent. Biography Elif Demirezer was born as the daughter of Turkish immigrants in Berlin and is the third of four children. She grew up in the Berlin district of Moabit and attended the OSC KIM school. Benjamin Dolić (born 4 May 1997), known professionally as Ben Dolic, is a Slovenian singer. He gained popularity in Germany after his participation in the eighth season of ''The Voice of Germany''. Dolic would have represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 held in Rotterdam with the song "Violent Thing" before it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mandy Grace Capristo (born 21 March 1990), also known mononymously as Mandy, is a German singer and songwriter.
