Fredson Câmara Pereira (born 22 February 1981), known simply as Fredson, is a Brazilian retired footballer who played as a midfielder. Football career Born in Monção, Maranhão, Fredson started his professional career with Paraná Clube in 1998, moving four years later to Spain after having signed with RCD Espanyol. At the Catalonia club he was never an undisputed starter, but received a significant amount of playing time, helping it to the Copa del Rey in his fourth season. In January 2007, after having appeared in 117 official games for Espanyol over the course of four 1/2 La Liga seasons, Fredson moved on loan to São Paulo FC, where he sustained a severe knee injury. Upon his return he was deemed surplus to requirements by new boss Tintín Márquez, being sold in the 2008 summer to another Brazilian side, Goiás Esporte Clube. Fredson Paixão Melo (; born May 13, 1979) is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor. He has competed as a featherweight in the United States with the UFC and WEC, in Japan with Deep, and in Brazil with Jungle Fight. He is a four-time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu professor, who teaches in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has affiliate schools in California and Okinawa, Japan, under the ''Fredson Paixao Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association'' banner. He is a former member of the Gracie Barra Combat Team. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Paixão is one of the top grapplers in the world, earning his black belt under Grand Master Osvaldo Alves in 1998. John Fredson
John Fredson (born 1896, as Neetsaii Gwich'in - August 22, 1945), was a tribal leader born near Table Mountain in the Sheenjek River watershed of the state of Alaska, United States. He is most noted for gaining federal recognition for the Venetie Indian Reserve in 1941, then the largest reservation in Alaska, and containing approximately 1.4 million acres (5,700 km). This was before Alaska was admitted as a state. As a youth, Fredson had taken part in Hudson Stuck's expedition to climb Denali, and served as base camp manager. Afterward Stuck sponsored him for college, and he attended Sewanee, The University of the South, becoming the first Alaska Native to graduate from college. Fredson returned to Alaska, where he worked in a hospital and as a teacher, becoming a leader and political activist.
