Fredericton Transit (or the City of Fredericton Transit Division) is a small transit operator in Canada owned by the city of Fredericton, New Brunswick. It also includes Dial-A-Bus service for people with disabilities. Services Fredericton Transit provides public transport to most residential districts Monday to Saturday between 6:15 am and 11:00 pm. Kings Place in the central business district is the common interchange point for all services. A typical route has an hourly frequency throughout the day, with more frequent services in peak hour. Fredericton Transit routes are often suffixed with N or S, denoting the direction in which the bus travels. General Motors Diesel Division (GMDD) was a marketing and customer service unit of General Motors founded in 1938. It sought customers for GM's diesel engines, which had undergone major development during the 1930s. It was most active in association with GM's Detroit Diesel Engine Division, which produced lines of lightweight diesel engines that could be adapted to many uses including road vehicles, small boats, military equipment, construction and farm equipment, pumping, and auxiliary power generation. In 1939, Detroit Diesel Series 71 engines were installed in buses produced by Yellow Coach, who would be acquired by GM in 1943 to launch the GMC Truck and Coach Division. Marysville, New Brunswick
Marysville is a suburb of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. It is northeast of the city on the Nashwaak River about north of its confluence with the Saint John River (New Brunswick), Saint John River. There was an Acadian village named Sainte-Marie at the site which was burned in 1758 during the Expulsion of the Acadians. Over a hundred years later the town was incorporated. Alexander Gibson (industrialist), Alexander Gibson developed the Marysville Cotton Mill. Brick duplexes were built around the mill, most of which are still standing and now privately owned. Gibson named the village after his wife and his eldest daughter, both of whom were named Mary. In 1973 the town merged with the city of Fredericton. After the cotton mill closed in 1975, the building was renovated and converted into provincial government offices under the name Marysville Place.
