Fredericton-Fort Nashwaak
Fredericton-Fort Nashwaak was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, Canada. It was first created in the 2006 redrawing of electoral districts and was first used in the general election later that year. Its last MLA was Pam Lynch of the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick. History The district was created in the 2006 redistribution although, somewhat confusingly, a district by the same name existed immediately prior to this. The district combined those portions of the old Fredericton-Fort Nashwaak district north of the Saint John River with approximately half of the Fredericton North district (those portions east of the Westmorland Street Bridge) with suburban areas from the old riding of Grand Lake as well as a large part of unpopulated territory also from Grand Lake. New Brunswick Electoral Redistribution, 2006
The 2006 New Brunswick electoral redistribution was undertaken as a result of legislation introduced by Bernard Lord, the Premier of New Brunswick, Canada, on June 9, 2005. The legislation establishes a statutory requirement for redistribution of electoral districts after every decennial Canadian census. The redistribution process set out in the legislation took approximately six months to complete, and was overseen by an independent commission. The bill introduced by the government would have required that 55 ridings be maintained with populations varying between 75% and 110% of 1/55 of the provincial population. The Opposition Liberals expressed a desire for the commission to have greater flexibility either in the variance of the average population or in the number of districts. Kelly Lamrock
Kelly Lamrock (born February 5, 1970) is a lawyer and political consultant in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. He was previously a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick for Fredericton-Fort Nashwaak, and Minister of Social Development in the New Brunswick cabinet before opening Lamrock's Law in Fredericton. Before politics Kelly Lamrock was born in Saskatchewan on February 5, 1970. He moved with his family to British Columbia and lived there until his family relocated permanently to Fredericton, New Brunswick when he was eight years old. As a child Lamrock attended Garden Creek Elementary School and Albert Street Middle School. As a teenager he attended Fredericton High School. Westmorland Street Bridge
The Westmorland Street Bridge is a bridge crossing the Saint John River in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Opened on 19 September 1981, the Westmorland Street Bridge is an extension of Westmorland Street in Fredericton's central business district and connects with Route 105 (or the Ring Road) in Nashwaaksis, a neighbourhood of Fredericton since municipal amalgamation in the 1970s. Structure The bridge is a continuous steel girder structure with concrete sidewalls measuring long and carrying four traffic lanes with a posted speed limit of 70 km/h (43.5 mph). There is a pedestrian/bicycle pathway on the north side of the vehicle lanes. Fredericton North (french: Fredericton-Nord) is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, Canada from 1973 to 2006, and was contested again in the 2014 New Brunswick general election. Fredericton-Fort Nashwaak (1995–2006)
Fredericton-Fort Naswaak was an electoral district returning members to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick for three elections: 1995, 1999, and 2003. It was created in the 1994 electoral redistribution taking in the easternmost portions of the City of Fredericton taking about half of its territory from each of Fredericton North and Fredericton South on either side of the Saint John River. It elected Liberals Greg Byrne and Kelly Lamrock in the 1995 and 2003 elections respectively but elected Progressive Conservative Eric MacKenzie by a narrow margin in 1999 when his party swept the province winning 80% of the seats. The district was abolished in the 2006 electoral redistribution when the Boundary Commission expressed a desire to use the Saint John River as a natural boundary between districts. Pamela R. "Pam" Lynch is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick in the 2010 provincial election, defeating Liberal cabinet minister Kelly Lamrock.
