Frederico Rosa
Frederico Nobre Rosa (6 April 1957 – 17 February 2019), known simply as Frederico, was a Portuguese professional footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Frederico was born in Castro Verde, Baixo Alentejo. During his club career he played for CUF, Barreirense, Benfica (having to compete with the likes of Humberto Coelho – his idol – he featured solely as a backup during four years), Boavista (his most steady period, with eight consecutive Primeira Liga seasons, nearly 300 official appearances and team captaincy), Vitória de Guimarães, Estrela da Amadora and Leixões. Frederico retired in June 1995, at the age of 38. International career Frederico won 18 caps and scored five goals for Portugal, being selected for the roster at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. Castro Verde
Castro Verde () is a town and a municipality of the Alentejo region of Portugal (in the historic district of Beja). The population in 2011 was 7,276, in an area of 569.44 km2. Castro Verde is situated in the Baixo Alentejo subregion, within a territory known locally as the ''Campo Branco'' ( en, White Plains). 1990 FIFA World Cup Qualification (UEFA)
The European (UEFA) zone of qualification for the 1990 FIFA World Cup saw 32 teams competing for 13 places at the finals. UEFA members Italy qualified automatically as hosts of the finals. The qualification process started on 21 May 1988 and ended on 18 November 1989. Format Teams were drawn into seven groups, four groups of five teams and three of four teams. All seven group-winners qualified automatically, with the runners-up in the four groups containing five teams (Groups 3, 5, 6 and 7) also qualifying. The two best second-placed teams in the three groups containing only four teams also qualified (Groups 1, 2 and 4), and the second-placed team with the worst record was eliminated. The Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira (; English: Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup, or simply Portuguese Super Cup) is an annual Portuguese football match played since 1979 between the winners of the Portuguese League (Primeira Liga) and Portuguese Cup (Taça de Portugal).
