Frederick Beilby Watson
Sir Frederick Beilby Watson, KCH, FRS (1773–11 July 1852) was a British courtier. Watson was the son of William Watson, who was Ranger of Books (i.e. librarian) at the Treasury, and Elizabeth, née Beilby.''The Gentleman's Magazine'', Volumes 192-193 In 1805 he became Paymaster of the 1st The Royal Dragoons. Frederick Watson (artist)
Frederick John Watson was a Canadian fashion illustrator and painter from Barrie, Ontario. He is best known for his international paintings of women, fashion illustrations and theater and Art Deco posters. He has also created a fine art print collection of stylized women reminiscent of the Art Deco style. The start of inspiration for his work came from a woman he saw on Madison Avenue in New York City, wearing black, high heels, a diamond brooch, and carrying an umbrella. Biography Frederick Watson was born to a farm family in Barrie, Ontario. His father worked in the air force as a pilot and not around much. After moving to Toronto in his early 20's, before becoming an illustrator, he worked at Simpsons for five years. One morning, a mysteriously dressed woman came in with an open portfolio and checked in her coat before going shopping. From the contents of that portfolio, his love for fashion was born. Frederick Garnett "Fred" Watson AM (born 14 December 1944) is an English-born astronomer and popular scientist in Australia. He holds the role of Australia's First Astronomer at Large with the Commonwealth Government of Australia, relaying the important aspects of Australian astronomy to the government, the general public, and associated organisations. In 1995 Watson became astronomer in charge of the Australian Astronomical Observatory, but is best known for his work with ''science outreach'', for which he has written many books, as well as musical and choral works.
